Von Bargen's Jewelry — Local services in Burlington

I’m not one to post many reviews, but this experience really warrants one.

In February, my now fiancé and I went into Von Bargen’s on Church Street (Burlington) to check out their engagement ring selection. Neither of us had been in there, but they’ve been in business quite some time and we’d heard good things.

That day, we had the pleasure of working with Ali D. (manager) and what a positive experience! Ali spent a lot of time with us as I had fun trying on different rings, everything from the classic solitaire types to many very unique pieces. It was hard to make a decision. Ali then introduced us to the most beautiful ring I think I’ve ever seen and somehow, it was also within our budget!

We started planning. Ali explained this ring would be designed by Mark Patterson and that some customizations could be made. She asked me about what type of diamond we would like them to find for the main stone, rather than just having to pick from their current inventory. This was a very informative process and pretty cool to be able to choose amongst limitless options!

Once all of the ring specifications/personalizations were set, we placed an order and sometime in March, the ring was finished. Ali communicated about the arrival with my fiancé, so I’d be surprised. (By the way, I had emailed Ali a few questions before the ring came in and she emailed me right back.)

Even though, I’d seen a ring like the one we ordered in the store, it couldn’t prepare us for the beauty that resided in that pretty, little jewelry box. This ring is absolutely spectacular!! Think vintage-style meets modern artistry. It’s elegant, yet very solid and the setting is so one-of-a kind. I think if I add up all the minutes spent just staring at it, in the first 24-hrs, it comes out to be between 2-3 hours.

Ali and Mark Patterson made sure every detail for this ring was perfect! The main diamond was exactly what I’d hoped for. Honestly, I’ve never seen a more beautiful ring. I didn’t realize I had a “dream ring,” until I saw this breathtaking piece of art! I’m so glad Ali (without being at all pushy) read me so well and seemed to know my taste better than I did at that moment. She was also very personable and attentive.

Buying an engagement ring can be stressful, but Ali made the process so seamless from start to finish.

This is a good story so you should read why I gave it a 5 star. I was TDY in the military I asked my GF at the time to take a look with a friend at rings around Burlington, VT to see what she was interested in "If I proposed" yes I know that was a lead on. She went to many places and we talked about all the different style/sizes/.... and more. She mentioned a couple of other places but I liked Von Bargon's because of the relaxed atmosphere, they worked with my price line & provided me a complimentary beer while talking to them! btw it was a Switchback, I talked with a very knowledgeable employee there. Our conversation consisted of a budget, center diamond and style. From there we discussed the setting. I had plenty of time to decided. I did get a friendly reminder every month about my decision, which was nice because I wanted to pay outright and not finance the ring. At the time I didn't have $5k+ to pull out. We were still saving for a down payment on the house. My experience was very inviting but understand when you look for a ring at Von Bargon's they know their job & will work with you. When shopping for an engagement ring I was very focused on finding someone I enjoyed working with. Von Bargen's was the first place I stopped in, met Dawn, and stopped looking elsewhere. There was no pressure throughout the process and Dawn was patient, very attentive, and gave great advise. When we went back to pick wedding bands we had an equally enjoyable experience and Dawn made sure we found the right options for both of us.
