My family visited Nibblers Popcorn Company in El Dorado Hills excited to explore their candy and popcorn selection. The store is bright, clean, and well-organized, with a wide variety of flavored popcorn made in-house and available for sampling. My 5-year-old daughter was excited, especially while picking out her treats.
Unfortunately, our experience was marred by cold, unwelcoming customer service. While the man at the register was helpful, there was a noticeable lack of warmth throughout our visit—something you’d expect more of in a store built around childhood joy. The most disappointing moment occurred near the exit, where a rolled sheet of paper and markers were set up for kids to write messages. As my daughter eagerly prepared to write “Best Store Ever,” I gently unrolled a portion of the paper to give her space. A female staff member immediately rushed over and sharply said, “No, no, don’t do that,” in a tone that felt more like scolding than support.
There were no signs indicating customers should ask for help, and the staff member seemed more concerned about the paper than the child’s experience. I attempted to ease the moment with a lighthearted comment, but her response was cold and dismissive. It left us walking out of the store feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.
We came from out of town and had been looking forward to coming back—but after that encounter, we’ve decided not to. Friendly service is essential, especially in a store that caters to children and families. If all I wanted was candy and popcorn, I could find a wider selection online—with far better customer care. Unfortunately, the human interaction at Nibblers didn’t match the quality of...
Read moreWhen I first saw that a popcorn store was going to open up in the town center my first thought was "well that's not going to last long, how is a popcorn place going to last?" so after we got some dinner at the Mongolian place across the street, we saw that they had just opened so we decided to check it out. My first t impression that hit me as we walked in was the smell! The aroma of freshly made popcorn is magical on its own, but when you add the scents of Kettle corn, chocolate drizzled corn, and the many other types of sweet and savory options available it combines into a head spinning wave of delicious. The second thing you notice is, all of the candy, this is the only place west of placerville where you can get our find the different types candy they have here. They are more than happy to let you sample their different flavors ranging from sweet to savory, to unthinkable (pickle is a option along with sour candy flavors)
Now that we have been there a couple of times I think they place has legs and has potential to make it long term and become a EDH staple. Come here for a treat after dinner, come here to get a special unique tasty gift for a teacher/coworker, or on a date after the movies. I imagine this place will be really busy this upcoming...
Read moreStale & cheap.
This is my third or fourth stop this year, we've been making it a regular stop before our big weekend movie Nights, but each time we've been really disappointed with the quality of the products.
For example, the bulk malt balls are really cheap: there is very little malt at the center and it is flavorless, surrounded by a cheap chocolate with too much paraffin.
Even branded candies like the Reese's Pieces taste "off."
On our last visit, we purchased two Charleston chew candy bars, both of which were stale and crunchy on the inside when the Taffy is supposed to be soft and pliable.
The prepackaged cotton candy had a chemical smell when we opened it.
The staff here is so nice, and the service is really good, and the selection is over the moon, but the products themselves just disappoint...
