Would not recommend coming here if you are trying to sell a ring. I understand resale on rings is poor and appraisals are higher for insurance reasons, but the clerk gave a wildly low value without actually examining the ring and was overall quite rude. They offered a price that came in thousands below MULTIPLE other jewelers cash offers and valued the ring MUCH less than any other jeweler. Very shady and suspicious when they are the one jeweler saying that. Pass.
UPDATE in reference to owners response on Yelp:
As I mentioned in the second sentence of my review, I am aware that an insurance value is not anywhere close to what I would receive when selling a ring. Again, you are being condescending, which is not surprising. I have not had a jewelry shop offer a full replacement value and would have never expected that.
Also, you offered $2500 for the ring. You did not specify only the the mounting or smaller stones. In fact, you specifically mentioned a minimum carat size when I asked you if you buy rings, which would imply the entire ring or at least the main stone. Also, I do not need you to "help me out" with anything. My point of coming in the store was to get another estimate for selling the ring vs keeping it and reworking the center stone into a newer setting. Also, I would not have decided on using your store for this service anyways as the selection is very slim. It is also a little strange that you sell trinkets in a jewelry shop. I have never seen that before. I never thought that I could buy a diamond ring and an odd iPad cover in the same store.
Furthermore, you did not mention anything about not selling used jewelry or any of the explanation that you typed here. You simply said the ring is not worth what it was appraised for and said the appraisal was too high.
I would be more than happy to provide further education for you regarding customer service if you would like as well as the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a customer for years . However the store has been sold !! The new owners are a nightmare !! I took a ring of mine there to have a ruby put in because mine fell out . I brought my ring in 9/27/24 . The first ruby the cutter broke it so I waited for them to get another one . Last Wednesday I called because I didnāt hear anything . The girl that answered said the owner wasnāt in but that she would have them call me ā¦..no call so I texted the original owner ( who is a sweetheart) and told her what was happening. Thatās when I realized that the business was sold . I panicked I wanted my ring which my husband had made for me. So I went and picked up my ring..I didnāt sign for anything . When I was driving home Andrea texted me and asked if I had the loose ruby . I told her I would have to look when I got home . Well sure enough it was there. I told her yes I have it I will bring it back Monday. Within minutes Iām getting calls from a number I donāt recognize . Itās the new owner yelling at me that I have stolen her property and that if I didnāt bring it back by 6:01 pm she was pressing charges for stealing her property .. there were more phone calls..this new owner hung up on us 4 times !!! Please beware of these people. I have lived in ElDorado Hills for 27 yrs. Iām not a thief and can afford to buy any piece of jewelry I may want. But to have a sheriff call me and then come to my house is crazy . I will never step foot in that store ever again. Thing is I have spent a lot in that store over the years not any more ā¦.BEWARE of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is overdue. I stopped in and discussed my plan to reset my ring with Andrea. I explained everything I wanted and showed her images. She wrote me a price for the ring and I came back at a later date to do the design. When I came back a few weeks later, she told me the bid she wrote was WRONG and she made it too low. This was a major red flag and I should have walked away, but I was too excited at point. She wanted $500 more to make the ring. I went through the design phase and I kept telling her it was too industrial looking and heavy from what I showed her in photos etc. she assured me it wouldn't look like that in the end. Same story when the wax mold came back. I explained that it was really heavy and not delicate like we discussed. She again agreed it would not look like that. Well guess what, it did, it was hideous. I wore the thing for a two years and hated every day. I finally went somewhere else and had it reset exactly as I had asked. Andrea is not polite, she is extremely rude to her staff and condescending. She won't remember your face even if you have come in 10 times in a row. Please stay away, there are so many better and kinder jewelers I would rather give...
