The merchandise itself is ok - a bit less stuff than some other stores; and the people who work here are very friendly, but there are a lot of odd things about this particular store making it difficult to get around and shop. First, the entrance to the parking area from the street is a bit tight. Next, when parking by the walkway that leads from the parking lot to the store, there are all of these concrete benches zig-zagged at odd intervals making it feel like an obstacle course walking to and from your car. When other people are coming the opposite direction, someone has to walk in the bushes and landscaping to get by. Why in the world do they need a dozen or so benches along the walkway anyway?? Who thinks that many people are ever going to want to sit around in a Kohl’s parking lot in the California sun?
Inside, this is a 2 level store, but they only have one set of escalators and 1 very small elevator. The store is a bit cramped in any event. The escalator going down was out of service today, so there was an insanely long line of people waiting to take the elevator. Getting up to the 2nd floor was fine, but then you were stuck. Even though the down escalator wasn’t working, it seems they would still let you walk down it, but they had it blocked off. When asked if they have stairs we could use, the clerk said that they do have a flight of stairs, but the stairs are only for an emergency, so you would set the alarms off if you tried to use the stairs. Next, there were 5 cashiers working at the check-out area, but the line of customers was literally wrapped half-way around the store. I’m not exaggerating when I say it took about 45 minutes just to get to the register, and this is early February - not even the Holidays or back to school or anything. Even stranger is that my husband was in the store earlier in the day and he said it was the same then - at least 50 people waiting to check out. I have never, even over the holidays, seen lines so long in a Kohl’s before. I’d stick to choosing this store only if it’s the closest to you and you are wanting to shop in the middle...
Read moreSome of the staff are really friendly and try their best. However, the woman who passes out Kohl's cash for the Kohl's cash giveaway events is often very rude. I don't understand why they have her do that job if she seems to dislike interacting with customers. Around October when the last giveaway ran I went with a couple friends who all planned to shop and she would be very reluctant to give us our coupon. Just because we shop together doesn't mean we were from the same household or breaking the giveaway "rules". Roll around to this current giveaway and I receive my coupon and later on meet my friend coincidentally who is also shopping. The woman approaches us and says something along the lines of "uh oh, that's breaking the rules," we awkwardly laugh and explain that we are not from the same household, as per the rules and just met up. Then, I come in today and the lady hides the coupons as I ask her a question and doesn't hand them out to me at the door. I pick out my item and go to the cashier and ask about the giveaway thinking they might have some up front, they have her come over to give me one and she looks at me and says "you were here yesterday." Very weird! I'm sure she is a sweet person but I really think they should switch the person at the door as this isn't the first time I've experienced this behavior with the giveaway and I'm sure others have to.
I would have bought what I came for whether I had the coupon or not but it's strange that she seems to personally police the giveaway distribution in a way that conflicts with what...
Read moreI went to kohl’s store on Hamilton to and tried to buy a Lancôme lipstick. There was a sales sticker for $16.00 for the lipstick that I wanted to buy. When I went to the cashier to pay and the cashier said this item is $32.00. I told her that the sales sticker showed $16.00. The cashier called her manager Wendy to come to correct the price. Wendy came and told me that she can’t sell the item to me for $16.00. I asked her why not because the price sticker indicated $16.00. She took off the on sales sticker and blamed someone put the sticker there. She didn’t honor the sales price and rejected to sell it to me for $16.00. I went home and searched for that item and saw the item on sales at kohl’s for $16.00. I took a picture of it and went to kohl’s. When I arrived the cashier told me that she trusted me and the item is on for $16.00. But again Wendy is still rejecting to sale it to me with $16.00 and she she told me go somewhere else to buy and this item as the price is $32.00. I told her that I don’t care somewhere else as I went to kohl’s at the item is on sale. After complaining, it ended up she sold 1 to me for $16.00 instead of 4 items that I want to buy. I’m really unhappy and disappointed that Kohl’s didn’t honor the displayed and advertised price. This is “bait and switch” and is illegal; even beyond that, the manager was unprofessional and said “someone” changed the price in an accusatory tone. This is unacceptable. Be aware of this lady Wendy. She turned her back when I took...
