If this review feels a but scattered its because I am truly upset right now and just everything wrong is spilling out about this cut right now. I'm really sorry, but I got a wash, cut, and style for $95 here yesterday and today I am nearly in tears over how bad my hair looks. The wash was fine and my lady was very sweet so I feel guilty writing such a bad review, but the "layers" I got is just a 3 inch difference that looks like two wigs stacked on top of each other, during the blow drying / "styling" it felt like ever stroke of the brush was tangled in the hair she parted and clipped up just ripping rows of hair out. I included a note with my appointment that I have naturally curly hair so I thought they'd give me someone with experience in that but apparently not. Now the main problem. At the very start I explained I am trying to grow out my hair/improve its health, I only want the damage cut off. From what she showed me it was about two inches off looking at my hair now she took double that or probably more. Also when originally she said my hair was too thin for layers (I also did not have layers at this point) she changed her mind and said once the damage was off my hair would be healthy enough for layers and would look best, as am not a hair stylist I said okay because I wanted to do whatever was best for my hair. The layers are as above stated, bad. Very very bad. The nail in the coffin is she handed me a mirror after ripping and tearing at my head with brush and hairdryer and it looked like a child had cut random sections of my hair and curled them upwards slightly. I thought she must not be done yet, but she removed the drape from me and I realized omg she is done and it looks awful. Im very non-confrontational but I wish I had been able to tell my lady to try to fix it ...though maybe it's best I didn't since the massacre I'm sporting now is already beyond salvage and I doubt she could fix it without buzzing my head.
I am sad because my lady was very sweet, but she didn't ask how I wanted my hair styled dispite me paying for the service she went straight to the weird end curl thing my 60 year old aunt does. I am 26. Abd as I was leaving in shell-shocked she told me something about if I didn't have time to straighten it in the morning I could do (something) else [we had a bit of a language barrier im afraidwhich would be fine if she did a good job on my hair] but I said I was trying to get my hair healthy why would she cut my hair so that it required straightening to look as she thought was "good" in the mornings? As it curled in the night my hair that when straight went to below my shoulder blades is now off my shoulders and I feel sick seeing it. I will not be returning. The style is not flattering and is dated. Shorter than agreed upon. Overpriced butchering of your hair. If you are young have curly hair or are trying to get your hair longer/healthier DO NOT COME HERE. The stars are just my guilt since the lady was sweet but for a business this...
Read moreI got a very poor haircut. I want to say that the issue is that the lady that cut my hair does not know how to cut curly hair. But, honestly, the haircut is so poor that it goes beyond the fact that my hair is curly. The side above my ear is cut way too high -- I have around a fingers worth of skin showing between my hair and my ear. I have a hole on the right side of my head where the hair is cut much shorter than the rest of the head. I even asked for my hait not to be blow-dried, and she still blew my hair dry and straightened it. The haircut is asymmetric, chaotic, and disorganized. I have never had a haircut as bad as this one, and it is very upsetting. Some sides are so short that I really have no other option left now than to shave off my hair. I cannot recommend that anybody with curly hair (or, really, any type of hair) gets a haircut here. I hate giving such a bad review during the pandemic when I know so many business are struggling. But this is really...
Read moreEveryone knows that finding the right Barber is tough. I've been all around the Bay Area and for the last two decades I've only had a few. When I moved away from SF to SJ, knew it was gonna be another challenge to find a good one. Enter in Craft salon & barbershop. I found this gem on Yelp after I had it with wait times and mediocre haircuts at other local barbershop. I found Craft on Yelp and immediately was pulled in by their high ratings and all the stuff they have on their menu. I booked very easily online for my first appointment. I love everything about this place. They always see me on time and the music is great. Ann immediately knew what I was looking for and gave me some pointers which I love because I know nothing of hair. She helped me find the right product and this is one of the only places where I leave with a haircut and people know and compliment me on what a good haircut I have. So thanks Ann and the rest of the crew at Craft! So glad I...
