Yesterday I had a collision with an old fireplace finial that was rusted. After having to have my temple glued, it was advised that I get a tetanus shot. I tried to schedule one online but couldn't, so I called the store to ask if I could get one. The person on the other end said "Yes, of course." Needless to say, especially with the closing of Rite Aid, it was more than a madhouse in the pharmacy at 7:15 PM.The pharmacy team at the store was running around waiting on customers in the drive through, on the phone, and in person. It was a well orchestrated chaos but they were still kind with each other and their patients. As we watched, each person was greeted with kindness and heard. That's not easy to do when you have so much going on, and, even harder at the end of what I am sure was an incredibly busy day. Sarah, the pharmacist, gave me my shot and took time to make me feel like she wasn't in a rush. We talked about our names both being Sarah and how important the "h" is and how neither of us liked shots.
