I am human being and should only be treated as a human not by race or any other characteristics first. In Hobby Lobby on 12/30/2017, while shopping in the Canton, MI location me and my Christian Sister went shopping for their after Christmas sale 80% off Christmas decorations. We spent a few hours shopping the great deals and as we were leaving found a non some Christmas items a standing glass mirror $350.00 and matching circle smaller mirror $49.00. Now we have need for three baskets of items 90% for my sister and small remainder for me.
Well my sister took the mirror to the closest cashier who was also a human of dark color like me and my sister, when we both approached the cashier with our items for purchase, we had questions about the price of high end mirrors because pricing was not clearly displayed. The head cashier also human White color started hovering around us but not asking questions and/or answering to assist the cashier or us the customers. We eventually had no choice but to assist head cashier with her job duties by asking her to verify the correct prices.
Ok now the cashier and I are discussing which items I want in particular bags, and how can she or any employee can protect the mirrors. While these conversations were happening the head cashier continued to hover around the cash out line we were in without offering any solutions.
This was a single digit cold day and the head cashier never helped us and we both felt uncomfortable and confused with her behavior. Our next stop to a local restaurant to warm up and eat. I asked my sister because I thought maybe it was my imagination that the head cashier who was also human white color treated our situation like we were trying to do something illegal with the cashier and/or steal.
My sister confirmed my feelings, that is when looking back I should have believed my gut feelings and asked a manager above the head cashier to assist us. Head cashierās usually come to help making everyone shopping experience as nice as possible. On that cold Saturday the store traffic of humans...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI always come to this hobby lobby and always get great service, but yesterday on Juneteenth me and this other African American was treated poorly and on purpose, it was two cashier up front one cashier had a super long line and the other cashier had one person in her line and a closed sign on her counter as well, since she was helping someone I asked her are you closed she says yes you have to go wait in thst line which was the longer line dang near down the aisle, ok Iām like no problem thanks. I go get in the line bout 1 minute after the other African American lady walks up and was told the same thing and she did as I did and was like no problem thanks. So now this manager name Patty comes up to the front and start pulling people from the longer line and sending the to the lady that said she was closed, again okay cool so now sheās helping someone now the line will move quicker what I thought until other the customers that finished shopping all just walked straight to that short line and cut us all that been in line for like 20 minutes. So I asked Patty (the manager) hey how are those customers able to go ahead of us? (which where all Caucasian's ) I said you were pulling from one line now you just let all them walk up and cut thatās not cool we been waiting 20 minutes , she replyās and say well that how it goes sometimes life isnāt fair š”š”š”š” so I replied that not how it was going because you didnāt come up here and open up another register to back up your cashiers you came to redirect traffic like you was an officer but when u pushed us to the back of the line which just so happen to be on Juneteenth you didnāt care that me and this other lady had been in line for at least 20 minutes already. The other Caucasian customers started apologizing for her behavior, we told them itās not their fault but our money spends just like theirs. So I told Patty I will never shop here again and I come a long way to go shop at this hobby...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to start this review by saying I am a regular shopper at hobby lobby. Iāve had almost no bad experiences at the store and honestly Iām not a picky person. Iām very crafty so I come to the store maybe twice a week. Iām very familiar with the staff and despite me being a frequent customer I donāt know my way around the store well haha.
To put things simple these past few weeks, Iāve been treated poorly by one of Hobby lobby, staff members. I walked up to one of the staff members named Heather to ask a question about where an item was located. She seemed very irritated when I asked her this question, but I brushed it off. I then headed over to the aisle, where she directed me ( she did not give me the correct location) and I noticed that she followed. I felt her side eyeing me while I looked for the item and overall felt very judged by her.
I then heard her and Iāll over speaking to possibly another coworker about how I āmust be blind or somethingā because I was unable to find my item.
Honestly, my feelings are hurt because I am always so kind to everyone at this location. I hope that something can be done by this. This is not the only negative experience Iāve had with Heather, but it is the most recent. I try to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I didnāt feel respected. I feel that this behavior might be acceptable if this was a young girl gossiping with her friend but this is a grown 40+ year old woman. Hopefully she will grow as a person and a...
