My friends and I booked the Witching Hour escape room for the 6 of us. I understand all escape rooms are not the same, but I found the procedure of being given a walkie talkie and told to ask for clues over that to be awful. Not only was our time not stopped while requesting/receiving clues (which we had experienced it was stopped with other escape rooms visited) but it was hard to hear the employee as well. He would pause and act like he was thinking where we were at/what we had accomplished thus far in the room and didn’t know what clue to give us. Almost as if he hadn’t been watching and listening the entire time.
One of the clues we read over and over and kept tried that set of numbers but it turned out being an error in the way the clue was written. There is clearly a difference between the words “numbers on” versus “numbers of.” There was an answer left written from the group before us which shows poor set up on the employees part to make sure the room is ready for our group.
We made it out of the room without actually solving the last puzzle and we all stood there confused. When opening the door there wasn’t an employee to greet us or ask if we had any questions about the room (another great thing we had experienced with other escape rooms). We made it out to the front desk and stood there before an employee from the back room had to tell our attendant that we already made it out and were standing at the counter. At that point one of the employees took us back in the room (after asking) to explain what could’ve went wrong and unlocked the final puzzle letting us out. If there is ever margin for error in a puzzle unlocking without it actually being solved that should definitely be fixed.
It is extremely frustrating that there wasn’t an actual countdown time clock on the tv screen in the room so we could better gage our timing. Instead it alerted us every 15 minutes.
It wasn’t explained to us where the locks and keys go after they’re unlocked which is important so none get lost and we can keep track of what has been solved and they don’t get left everywhere. We basically walked out at the end having no employee ask us how it was, to take our picture, etc. Very bad experience,...
Read moreWe decided to try out this escape room while we were in town visiting my brother and his wife. They make it really easy to purchase the tickets online. There isn't much that went well after that, unfortunately.
It is attached to the Zap Zone. It has its own entrance, but when we entered, we found no one but a sign that said if there wasn't an attendant to instead enter through the Zap Zone. We did that and approached the counter where the gentleman told us that the attendant was probably still setting up the room and would be out in a few minutes. I was nervous because it was just minutes before we were supposed to be there. It was actually after our start time when the woman arrived to take us back.
At this point we learned that there were six other people joining us in the room. This would probably be my first complaint. Not that there were strangers in there with us, because that was a possibility from the start. However, once we got in the room it was obvious that it was not large enough for ten people. Six would be a lot more comfortable with eight as the max in my opinion.
The story of the room is very engaging. Under different circumstances, I likely would have enjoyed myself more. Instead, I found the experience to be a little lacking. The props are extremely worn and in many cases damaged from excessive use and poor maintenance. The whole thing is dependent upon the attendant monitoring your progress and triggering certain events based on your actions. Should they be "sleeping on the job" your experience will be significantly impacted. At one point I performed an action that I thought would trigger the next step, but it didn't. About five minutes later, the attendant spoke to us through the speaker to give us a hint, which was the very thing I had done five minutes prior.
I don't want to go into too much detail for fear of giving any clues away to potential participants. As I said, the story is very engaging. Overall, though, I left...

UNLESS YOU LIKE TO WASTE TIME AND MONEY
I have never left a bad review before, but after last night’s experience I am finding myself doing so because nobody at this business cares how much of our time and money they wasted!!!
We had booked the Pirate’s Curse escape room yesterday for the 7:45pm time slot. We arrived on time and were specifically told to wait 17 minutes for the group before us to finish as they had a very busy day. We were surprised since checking availability online that morning had revealed many slots available, but sat at the tables anyway and waited. Around 8:13, I went to the desk and asked what was going on, stated our slot was for 7:45 and that I wanted to know when we would be let in. Employees informed me that it would be 10 more minutes as they were resetting the room and did not explain why it had taken so long to start that process. I went and sat down and when more time passed, another member of our group went to the desk and asked what the holdup was. At this point, the employee at the desk finally went to check what was taking so long.
We finally get in the room and some locks were so jammed that even if you put the right code in, you couldn’t open them without wasting excessive and expensive time on them. Eventually, we got close to the end and couldn’t seem to figure out one last riddle, when an employee came in to let us know our time was up. He offered to reveal the rest of the riddle and mumbles the answer, mentioning that one piece of the puzzle we were on as our time ran out was MISSING A PIECE. So our six-person group paid nearly $200 for the pleasure of this business’s incompetence and lack of good service. Additionally, we were not offered any partial refund or discount or ANYTHING to improve to utter disregard with which our time and money was treated by this place.
A completely disappointing experience, DO...
