“Where would you go? You have friends? Let your sister/brother take you.” This was the mantra I’ve constantly been told throughout high school. However, allowing it to drag out years after graduating is my biggest regret. With family members who didn’t have the time to those who refused to step into the car with me as a new driver, I realized that I wasn’t going to get anywhere and had to take the wheel on this situation. Choosing Cantor Driving school was the smartest choice I’ve made that has helped me physically and mentally. Before them, I signed up at a driving school in Yucaipa and I pray that no one else has to experience what I went through. Where Cantor exceeded, Yucaipa failed. From their quick and widely available scheduling to their helpful staff, Cantor should’ve been my first and last choice. My first instructor’s name is Lyssett and my last instructor’s name is Lyssett. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting the others but she was by far, the nicest, most patient, and most helpful instructor I’ve ever been with. From talking about the weather to my plans on the weekend, Lyssett truly didn’t feel like a stranger whose care I was getting into. She didn’t make me feel incompetent, she never made me do things that I wasn’t comfortable with, she always told me ahead what we were planning on doing, and she made me feel safe; everything my previous driving school failed at doing. I signed up for 4 (2 hours each) lessons and by the end of my 3rd, I’m seriously considering on signing up for more. If you have someone who is readily available to practice with and if you have the drive and are responsible enough to practice at any possible moment then you’re set with just the smallest drive time option. If you only have one of those, then PLEASE do yourself a favor and sign up for more lessons. 2 hours each might seem too long to some but they go by fast and are VERY productive. YES it is pricy, HOWEVER, the amount of confidence I’ve gained in these 3 weeks has been through the roof. 6 years of anxiety and nightmares of driving on the freeway has dissipated in just 3 lessons. PLEASE, do yourself or your loved one a favor by signing up here. You choose the amount, time, and place and they take care of the rest. Never think it’s too late to...
Read moreI took a total of 4 lessons with Cantor Driving School. Because of work, I could only schedule on weekends. I had 1 class with Shannon P. on Saturday, 2 classes with Tharendra S. on Sunday, and my last class with Steven L. on the same day I took my DMV driving test. Huge thanks to all of my instructors and to the representatives at Cantor for making the whole process so smooth.
Booking lessons and scheduling the DMV test was super easy. The representative was always available by text—honestly, it felt like they were there 24/7, which was awesome.
Tharendra S. was amazing at teaching me the basics of driving. I had never driven before, but from the very first lesson he made me feel at ease and gave me great tips. We drove around my neighborhood multiple times as practice.
Shannon P. was also fantastic. On my second day, she went into more technical details—turning, parking, and what the DMV looks for. I told her my goal was to drive to and from work, so she even had me practice that exact route. She went out of her way to write down the areas I needed to improve on, which I really appreciated.
On the third day, I was back with Tharendra, and he helped me polish everything—driving around the DMV area, practicing reverse, parking, U-turns, and even going on the freeway. I had such a great time learning with him.
Then on my fourth day (the actual DMV test day), I had Steven L. I was super nervous, but he reassured me with his words: “You either win or learn.” Before the test, he drove me around the area, gave me final pointers, and reminded me about little but important things like checking mirrors when signaling and maintaining the right speed (since DMV marks you if you’re off by more than 5 mph).
In the end—I passed my driving test and got my license! ^_^
I want to thank everyone at Cantor—both the amazing reps behind the scenes and my three instructors. They truly want you to succeed and give you all the tools to pass. I don’t usually write long reviews, but after this journey, I had to give them a full 5/5 stars. I definitely recommend Cantor Driving to anyone learning how to drive or preparing for...
Read moreI purchased 3 classes from can tours driving school and I worked with the instructor, Lysset who has +10 years of experience working with students to better prepare them as new drivers. Before enrolling and driving courses with Cantor's Driving School I carried a lot of anxiety and stress related to family deaths within car accidents. Lyssett was extremely patient, helpful and understanding with me. As the lessons went on I took three courses from August 25th to October 2nd, I can tell that Lysset was able to gauge what type of learner I am whether that be visually or Hands-On. With this information she was able to connect with me as a student and find different ways or techniques that she knew that I would learn best. I found your attention to detail and calm approach very helpful in my journey as a student. I did not leave this Driving School as a perfect driver, ready to take my driving test, as I still need more time to learn behind the wheel on my own and I deeply appreciate the instruction that I received from Lysset. Now I'm about to take what I've learned with Lyssett and Cantor's Driving School, and apply it on-the-road.
I would definitely recommend this school to people that feel like they need a patient, trained instructor to guide them as a new driver. After my first class I did see that the school would be great for people that are able to practice driving on their own time in preparation for their next class with the instructor to apply the skills that they learned in their last class. With taking into account how much insurance is for the vehicle that I trained in I did feel like the class prices were affordable.
I do suggest that if you're interested in can't drive in school to look ahead of time at their scheduling system get familiar with it as I had some trouble learning it. I'm very pleased that I was able to get stellar customer service as well as instruction from this driving school as I had been searching for a driving school in the area for the...
