"Star" Boarding and De-Boarding: As one enters the terminal at Port Canaveral for Royal Caribeann (our time was 1:30pm) you are greeted with luggage handlers who greet you with a smile and load your belongings onto huge carts. You then proceed into the terminal where you are directed to lines that are either express (for those who pre- scanned their passports on the RCL App) or non-express lines which take considerably longer. Boarding three hours before gangway up we were through Express check in (sailpass cards are issued here) within a minutes time. Processed through security and headed up the gangway. The total time to board was less than five minutes from the time we were dropped off! An extremely swift process. Once you enter Star of the Seas you go up escalators (passing by Casino Royale) and leads you into the Royal Promenade. (Accessible gangway is a bit different but similar process.) You are immediately hit with WOW. The amazaing Pearl is a sight to see. Proceed to your stateroom, unwind and let your adventure on this massive ship begin. Departing is set by weather or not you decide to use self-assist or luggage assistance. Times varies for de-boarding with times beginning at 6:15 am for self assist. If you use luggage assistance you could have your designated time anywhere from 7am (gangway down) to 9am (all exiting passengers need to be off ship). As luggage numbers are called you may wait in the assigned areas of the ship or stateroom (up till 8am). Most of the TV monitors will display luggage times and wait areas. We did self assist and stayed on board till about 8:30am. Those continuing on next cruise meet in Main Dining. Leaving the ship is a super smooth process, down the gangway, through the terminal, US customs has IDme identifier. So we didn't even need our passports even though the US customs officials ask you to have them out and ready. Unless you only have birth certificate, then you have to go through a different line to exit. Whole process took about 5 minutes to de-board. Once outside have your Uber/Lfyt/Shuttle pre-booked. You'll save time!!
