If you have a chance, get a Kohls card and use it for your purchases. You will get constant coupons for between 15-30% off your entire purchase (Including sale items) as well as frequent "Kohls Cash" certificates when you make your purchase which can then be used (and combined with) future coupons.
Their regular priced items are about what you would expect to pay at any department store, but their prices with the coupons are frequently far below even online e-tailers.
For example, I just picked up a Coffee Ninja for my wife (She LOVES it, btw),
The normal MSRP was $249 for the model we got. ($229 on Amazon) however after a 30% off coupon, a bit of kohls cash from a prior purchase of some luggage and a $25 gift card from a family member let me be my wife's hero for the low cost of $105. Quite the deal in my opinion!
So if you haven't tried Kohls, let me suggest you give it a go, particularly before the next school clothes shopping season, you will save a ton and do so in a nice, clean relaxed atmosphere.
The only negative I have with Kohls is that their Kohl's credit card does not have any way to configure autopay (I strongly suspect this is to increase late fee revenue as every other credit provider has this as an option.) so what I do to avoid any potential mishaps is I have both switched away from E-statements for them and if I have the time as soon as I make my purchase I go to the customer service area in the back and pay the exact amount I just charged. (You must use their card for at least part of your purchase in order to receive the discounts.)
If these tips helped you out at all drop me a thumbs up to let me know that I am writing these in a way that makes sense to my fellow consumers.

Read moreI recently visited Kohl’s and had a mixed experience. I want to start by mentioning my interaction with one of the associates who unfortunately was not very pleasant. She had her ID badge turned in a way where her name wasn’t visible, so I kindly asked for her name, and she told me it was Lisa. Hopefully, she was just having an off day — we all have them.
When I asked for assistance checking prices and sizes, her attitude felt dismissive and unhelpful. She stated that “all boxes are fixed” and that I should just search through the shelves myself, which wasn’t entirely accurate. I do understand how frustrating it can be when customers put boxes back in the wrong spots, but her tone came across as if I was a bother rather than a customer seeking help.
While I was there, I also overheard Lisa speaking to another customer who was looking for sandals. She told the customer that she would have to wait 10-15 minutes because she’d have to go through “a million boxes,” which led the customer to decide not to wait.
On a much more positive note, my experience at checkout was completely different thanks to Karen. She was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. Karen even took extra time to help me apply my coupons and mentioned she has been with Kohl’s for 12 years — and her outstanding customer service really showed.
If it wasn’t for Karen’s professionalism and kindness, I would have left a one-star review. Thanks to her, I’m giving this visit a three-star rating. I truly hope Lisa was just having a difficult day and that this isn’t her usual approach to...
Read moreIt was bad enough when they put Sephora in the store, resulting in less room for Womens Plus and Petite size clothing. Now that they've changed the checkouts to a line of cash registers it's starting to look like TJ Maxx or Ross or Bealls. Geez, even Walmart has individual checkouts. The new method is supposed to make checkouts faster, but returns are handled there too. The first time I shopped with the new setup I waited in line for about 10 minutes, with only one person ahead of me!! The next time was faster but I was there when the store opened. And now there is a self-checkout line IN A DEPARTMENT STORE! If we check out our own stuff then we should get an automatic discount! I've shopped at Kohl's for years, and am re-thinking my preference. The employees (except the woman at the Amazon return counter) are very nice and friendly but noticeably absent away from the registers. Kohls never let me down, even when the economy took a dive I was always comfortable there, knowing I would get good quality at a good price. Now prices are higher, there's less room for the departments I've frequented, the selection is poor, and floor assistance is...
