Lobos Lodge — Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Busy location on the Ocean strip but perfect for walking the area. Be forewarned...this part of Carmel is very hilly so if you have mobility issues you may struggle. Parking and traffic is hectic, of course weekends are worse. It's a gorgeous spot though. Hotel staff were exceptional. Room was super clean, roomy with a fireplace and private patio. I was in an intermediate king. Free continental breakfast was delivered daily...very nice touch. Excellent Foglifter coffee too. Comfy bed, fresh smelling linens and a tub so clean, I'd soak in it. All of Carmel is pricey but I feel like this place was worth the price. Grounds nicely kept. If you have time, put away your phone and go find a little shop called "The Pleasure of Writing". We stayed here a couple of times years ago but on subsequent visits to Carmel we stayed elsewhere as the Lobos Lodge price was high compared to other places of similar standard. However times have moved on and now the price is once again competitive. So we were happy to return. We had stayed in upper king rooms before but they were sold out so we had an intermediate king - room 35. We loved the decor in the room which appeared to have been recently decorated. Large room with a comfy bed. A sofa and chair and fireplac and enough storage space for clothes. The breakfast is ok but on a 3 day stay we had croissants twice. The other day an apple turnover so not healthy. We did also get a yoghurt though. Nice balcony although no view to speak of. We loved the fact you could get coffee (and cookies) all day at reception. The gentleman in there was really friendly....

Fault less this was our second time visiting we were again very impressed they even gave us the room we had back ten years ago. The room rates are top-end but worth every penny Big and spacious Queen beds sofa bed lovely chair's big TV huge walk in wardrobe huge bathroom views to the sea... breathtaking all areas very very clean outside space lovely very much like a boutique hotel...staff were exceptional Complementary coffee biscuits and pastries lovely delivered breakfast continental to our room .. just amazing Without a doubt, we will visit again highly recommend if you want to be near to beach and restaurants perfect location and yet so quiet.

If I had to say anything at all it would be when changing rooms prioritize existing customers first it wasn't a problem at all the staff were very apologetic which makes all the difference.
