Called in to find out their values of trading in a system vs them selling it. If I sold my almost brand new Xbox one S back to them, I'd get 115, and they'd sell it again for 270. The guy on the phone said the logic was "if 3 people trade in systems, we give away 340, so if we only sell one for 270 we don't make our money back" so I said okay well if you sell my 1 you make 155 bucks on my one and the guy started screaming "that's just how business works" and hung up on me. Very unprofessional and horrible business tactics. I'd much rather sell my things on amazon or even Craigslist for that matter, and get at least close to what my items are worth. Digital games are the way to go nowadays since GameStop will sell games for 20+ dollars more than they are worth simply because it's a disk (example:fortnite). Read moreWas in the store on 12/17/23 and one of the associates behind the counter was being incredibly vulgar behind the counter with customers (children too) in the store. When I was selecting my games, he asked if I needed help, and when I told him I was fine, he proceeded to stand over my shoulder while I picked my games.
Then when I checked out, he acted incredibly shocked when I asked to input my Pro Account number and asked me "Do you know what a pro account is?" Of course I do, that's why I have an account. He THEN asked me "Should I just throw your receipt away?" Why would you throw my receipt away? I took my receipt and left.
I've never had a bad experience here before, so this was an incredibly shocking experience. I can't imagine I will be back...
Read moreNot sure if it midnight releases are always this unorganized but I called the store earlier for what time it starts, drove about an hour and a half, got a spot in line JUST to be told we needed a sticker so we can get called in groups. We go up to ask for a sticker, get told our preorder wasnt valid and to go to the back of the line. Apparently we needed to be there HOURS EARLIER than before it starts to get one. One man who worked there was being very rude, nowhere online or during the phonecall specified we needed a sticker. In the end we got what we pre-ordered but this gamestop was just not all that organized and 2 out of the 3 employees clearly didnt care about their job.
