Overall, I'd give the Cartersville Aldi a 4.5 if I could. I save so much when I do my weekly shop here!
(MINOR) NEGATIVES
My biggest issue is that some of the fruits and vegetables can be on the older side so you may need to use them quickly or take steps to preserve them. But for the cheaper prices, I am willing to do that. I've had produce spoil quickly from Kroger as well but at least I'm not spending as much at Aldi.
One of the only other (very minor) drawbacks for me is that since it's a smaller store, there are less options, (I wish I didn't have to go elsewhere for whole wheat flour for instance) but if you don't need a lot of specific specialty items, you can save a ton. They do have some other nice whole grain items such as quinoa so I really appreciate that.
I also wish they had larger sizes on some of the things that I buy a lot of (such as brown rice and some of the oils) but again, due to limited space, I understand that they need to go with the sizes that most customers buy. I'm thrilled that they even carry things like coconut and grapeseed oil!
POSITIVES
The biggest positive is that I save a ton even compared to Walmart.
One of the other many positives of shopping there is that although I am no longer on a strict vegetarian diet, I do often opt for those items. They seem to be getting more of those types of things in which is great! Even the kids like their vegetarian choices.
They also have some nice gluten free items. I have friends who are on a gluten free diet so I like to try out whatever I can find. The brownie and cornbread mixes are delicious!
I very much appreciate that I can get in and out quickly and that the fellow shoppers at the Cartersville location seem to be kind people. There are many times when I've been offered someone's cart/buggy and the person won't accept my quarter. I always try to pay it forward when I have the opportunity and it seems many who shop there do the same.
I've also never experienced a rude or nasty employee....even when I broke a jar of sauce all over the floor. š
Overall, I highly recommend shopping at the Cartersville Aldi. I've experience shopping at several other Aldi locations many times when I lived elsewhere, so I was very excited when I learned we'd be getting one here. I've been shopping here weekly ever since it opened and plan to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI absolutely love Aldi. However, today, I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience at this Aldi location during what should have been a quick and simple breakfast run. I was on a tight schedule, and while I was able to find my items without issue, the interaction at the register left me feeling disrespected and profiled.
Upon reaching the cashier, I greeted her politely but received no response. Still, I remained courteous. She rang my items as usual and placed them into the cart beside her - which is standard practice. However, once I paid and reached for the cart (which is customary so customers can move to the side to bag their groceries), she held onto it tightly. Even though the next customer had a cart ready to replace it, she refused to let me take the one with my items.
I explained that I couldnāt bag my items while she was ringing up someone else, especially since I had personal belongings in hand. Her response? A condescending tone telling me to wait until she was done with the next customer, and then she would āhelp.ā I didnāt need help. I just needed the cart, as usual, to make the bagging process easier and faster! Especially considering my time constraints.
Her tone and behavior were dismissive and unnecessary. I felt singled out and, frankly, discriminated against.. especially after witnessing how she treated other customers around me. I asked for her name (Christian) and told her directly how unacceptable the situation was.
No customer should be made to feel like an inconvenience or be denied basic courtesy and respect especially not when following the normal flow of shopping at Aldi.
This experience made me question whether I was being profiled, and that is not a question I should have to ask when doing something as simple as buying groceries. Aldi, do better. Your customer service and how itās delivered to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI cannot relate to more than half of these complaints of store personnel rudeness and treating older people with disrespect. I usually enjoy my trips to the store. Gets me out and allows interaction with my Cartersville neighbors. I have been going to Aldis for all the years I have been in Atlanta. Today was one of a handful of times I have been embarrassed by the treatment I have received. I don't stand around and chat and hold up progress, and I love expedited service. But today, Tiffany, cashier at store number #28, was exceptionally rude and challenged my idea of professionalism more than once during the 4 - 5 minutes I was in front of her. I am hoping this assessment does not go unread or not addressed. We all sometimes need a little nudge to be polite or professional, especially if our job calls for it. Perhaps Tiffany at store # 28 in Cartersville needs a little reminder that she has a job because I enjoy shopping at this store! Or perhaps she needs a refresher course in customer service . I work in Woodstock and usually stop on my way home at the Aldis there. I guess I'm spoiled. The store is always clean, the personnel polite and helpful. Never noticed how much difference it makes to be a valued customer and shown respect. After all, you are there for our convenience, not the other way around. Mary Ann Meadows. Cartersville GA. 30121 I would be happy to direct Ms. Tiffany to some short courses in customer service if the company does...
