Now I’m annoyed and may wait for the movie to show up online from now on.
Have all movie theaters changed policies to reserved seating? I’m OK with this tactic when there’s a high, In-demand movie with high occupancy, but not when the theater is mostly empty.
We went to see a matinee, and the parking lot was mostly empty at that time in the morning. Plus, there were about 8 movies to be shown around 12 noon. So not everyone was going to the same movie.
But there was a line which turned in to a 10 minute wait to get tickets. Why? Because you have to pick your seats. Each person (couple or family) has to pick a seat. The clerk shows you a map and you have to decide. Be quick, or the clerk will zoom in, scroll left and right, while you’re deciding (as if that will help make up your mind faster). I prefer not to be behind a really tall person, a crowd, or a rowdy bunch of people. But how can I know that beforehand? You can’t with this policy.
Note: cycle time was 5 minutes to pick tickets and pay. Imagine how slow this will make getting in to a highly anticipated, popular movie? (No more time to get food and drinks, you might be late for the show.)
When we got inside the theater, most of the rows were empty.
And by the time the movie started, it was only 30% occupied (I counted).
So what additional benefit did I receive? Well food was the same and for the same price. The place was no cleaner than before. Sound system sounded the same. The video quality was the same. I got the same quality of chair I sat in when I watched the last Avengers movie (which was before this policy).
So, here’s a suggestion: for low occupancy movies, how about selling us tickets and just let us decide where we should go? Just like before. That would take 1 to 2 minutes each, to funnel us in.
And here’s another thing that makes this policy even more silly: once the movie starts, I could have moved to another...
Read moreI wish I didn’t have to give any stars to give a review, but unfortunately, my family and I had a very unenjoyable experience at this theatre a few hours ago. While we were trying to watch the Minecraft movie, every teenager in the room with us was so unruly and unsupervised….. most of them appeared to be no older than 14, and their parents just dropped them off at the 9:35 showtime. How can that legally be ok!? The kids were so noisy, most of the time it was difficult to hear the movie. The worst of it, on top of the noise was how rambunctious they were…… throwing things, my husband had to duck in order to avoid being hit with a soda pop can. Our son was hit in head by one of those McDonald’s Minecraft toys. A row of teenage boys in front of us were the worst of the worst of the whole crowd….. and by far, the weirdest! They were talking loudly through most of the movie, cheering loudly and clapping when their favorite scenes came on the screen and they were taking their shirts off and leaping, dancing and flexing around the whole front of everyone…….That was the weirdest part of the whole movie watching experience. Many of the kids were throwing their garbage at each other and at the screen. Not all of their trash items hit the screen, some hit other moviegoers, including my ten year old son. When the movie was over and we walked out into the front lobby, we couldn’t help but notice all the popcorn that was still on the floor when we were walking to the room where our movie was being shown. I couldn’t help but notice that the whole theatre is being run by teenagers. Is the pay so bad, that adults don’t want to work there anymore? There should be someone over the age of 30 in charge of supervision in each theatre room on the weekends when the movie theatre is mostly full of unruly kids. The kind of “behavior” many of them demonstrated last night should not be acceptable in...

The ticketing and concessions people were extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. The food was actually decent. We had sliders, curly fries and chicken tenders. The sliders and fries were really quite tasty. And fresh. The theatre itself is rather out of date. No recliners and seats are MEH at best but it was a pleasant movie experience..... until we saw the filth in practically every aspect of the theatre and common areas.
Horrid!!! I really do try to give the benefit of the doubt but there were workers with brooms and other janitorial supplies just standing around on their phones and shooting the bull with their co-workers it needs to be brought to the attention of managers and owners. The men's bathroom was shutdown altogether. There was trash all over the floors in the lobby and the ladies' bathroom was ATROCIOUS!!! Vomit in and on multiple toilets, feces in others in a manner that said they had not been really truly cleaned in a while. Toilet paper all over the floor, trash overflowing. I had to look in 8 different stalls to find one that I'd be willing to use. I almost walked out and said, I'll go somewhere off site. It was really that bad. The place where stomach viruses congregate at and caused health issues.
I try really hard to leave almost entirely positive reviews bc there are enough negative Nellies out there already but this deserves honesty. We know that places like movie theatres are still struggling to bounce back after COVID which is why cleanliness is paramount if you want people to be repeat customers which we won't be. At least not to...
