Mario at Charly's Electronic Repair is a godsend. He was able to clean, diagnose and repair my Technics turntables and mixer after many years of not working after a trip to Burning Man. He cleaned the gear, made sure it was in good working order, and even replaced a few slider knobs. And when the decks had issues crop up - they each manifested an intermittent short on one channel about a week apart - he stood behind his work to make things right, even making a modification to one deck based on a YouTube video at my request. His prices are beyond reasonable in my opinion and he will work on things that would be a real hassle to get fixed in LA, SF, or Seattle. As a guy with lots of vintage and offbeat electronics, he has me looking around for other gear that could be revived with his help.    Read moreBecause I took my television two Charlies to see what was wrong with it the power had went out and he told me that it was free to estimate the television then a day later he call me back and told me that he found out what was wrong with my television and he could fix it for $160 but with no warranty so I then replied if I paid you $200 would I get a warranty he replied yes 30 days but I never gave him authorization to do the repair on my television so I left my television there for a day or so because I had to work and I called him the following day so that I could pick up my television from Charlie's I get there he had already did the repair to my television without my permission I do not trust this business I would advise anyone thinking about bringing their Electronics here...
   Read moreI dropped off my subwoofer unit and a Pioneer AV receiver for repair 2 weeks ago. As I had not heard from anyone there, I called for a status update and only at that point did the repairs begin. On the plus side, I got a call 2 days later with the repairs made. Another drawback to my experience was that my subwoofer was returned to me dusty and scratched all to hell which was very upsetting as I am a freak about taking care of my stuff. Lastly, although the invoice does list the parts that were replaced, it does not provide a breakout by individual component. Upon pick-up, for clarity sake, the invoice should have been reviewed with the customer by either the technician himself or the customer service...
