On Thursday, April 30th, 2015 my 9.5 year old daughter Emily had an appt. in Cedar Falls. Softball practice starts Monday, May 4th and we needed to purchase ball shoes yet. I promised her after her appt. we would get them that day. As we walked into the store looking towards what direction to go, Emily stopped in the ladies section looking at "Miss Me" capri's and I stated "not today, ball shoes". Then a very pretty, polite young clerk approached us named I believe Brae and asked if she could help us. I said we are in need of softball shoes as practice starts Monday. She lead us over to the correct area, asked Emily what she liked, measured her foot and came back with a few different sizes. As she was working with Emily, Emily noticed her name tag with "West Union" and said it aloud. I asked "what"? Emily says again "West Union". Brae said, "yes, I'm from West Union" and I said, "oh, we are from Garnavillo and Emily's dad is from Elkader". Both these little towns are close to West Union and we small talked about our towns as she helped Emily and I to make the correct purchase. I just want to say we were VERY HAPPY with our purchase but also that we both felt that your employee Brae (hope I'm spelling this correctly) was a top notch employee and was very happy it was her that help us out. As she helped Emily with her ball shoe, tried with 1 & 2 different socks, how the shoe fit, making sure it wasn't too tight but also not too loose that would also hurt her foot she was very considerate of the purchaser (us), just not trying to make a sale but to make sure we were happy & satisfied. Not sure what your plans are in life Brae, but certain you have it to go far!! Very Happy customer's (who travel 1.5 hours twice a month to shop CF),...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to scheels to buy my first gun. I told the salesman I knew zero about guns(car guy). He showed me nothing of how to use the gun or anything. He asked me to initial all the line that said he did, so I did as I can have someone else show me so no big deal. He asked if I needed shells, I did so he hands me 3 boxes and I'm on my way. Get home to try it out, load the gun go to fire and nothing. Fiddled with it for awhile before looking at the box to see he gave me 16 ga. shells for a 12 ga gun. Which after reading can be very dangerous. Unable to get them out, I had to make yet another 40 minute trip to scheels to have them remove the rounds and buy new. A different gun salesman tears the brand new gun completely down to get it emptied. Get home from that trip only to try and load the new shells and realize he left one 16 ga. Shell in the barrel, again dangerous. Take it to someone who actually knows guns to have that removed. Come home and FINALLY shoot the gun only to realize he gave me the exact type of rounds I did not want. I specifically asked for slugs and got buckshot. So that will require another 40 minute trip down to return the remaining full boxes, (I won't be spending any more money there). So I give scheels a call and explain all this and they offered me a $15 gift card, not enough to even cover my gas not to mention the time and hassle. Needless to say not happy, expected more after spending $800 at a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't like to leave reviews online because I feel that my continued business with an establishment is enough to show that I support said establishment. However, the experience that I had today was pleasant enough that I felt compelled to share it. I came into this store to purchase some ammo for a bit of target practice and approached the counter where I was met by Ace. Ace was polite, professional and very courteous during our brief interaction. He asked to see my ID and I showed it to him, he then said he was glad he asked because my veteran status allowed for a military discount. I never knew this the many times I shopped there, mostly because I don't like to ask for it, but Ace let me know that it was there for me. He also assured me that the more often he'd see me in the store, he would recognize me and would remember to add the discount the next time I may come to the store. He then thanked me for my service and my sacrifice and I felt it important to end our interaction with my sincere thanks for his support and a firm handshake. Ace was a fantastic employee and a pleasant individual to interact with, I hope he hears about the positive experience he gave me and is given merit for...
