A very enjoyable experience, have already booked to come back.
We did the Mona Lisa room with just two players. The beginning is very intuitive but it gets tricky in the best possible ways. Very interesting and clever puzzles, with a nice variety of techniques needed to get the codes to move forward.
We used all our hints shamelessly, and had 10 minutes to spare at the end. I like that you can also ask if you are on the right track/have the right code without it counting as a clue.
A few things/some info is lower to the ground, requiring you to kneel or squat to read/see.
The beginning audio introduction could have been a touch louder, as the heavily accented voice required close concentration. I appreciated the later ambient noises that were played, very smart touch.
A few items/props showed age/abuse, which is unfortunate. Why can't people treat things nicely? One small aspect of a specific solve had to be pointed out in the introduction ("you will only have to use XXX item later for this puzzle" and it would have been a great/fun reveal but clearly some players have not followed the rules in the past causing the warning to be necessary.
Despite these little quips, we very much liked the story, the employees, the venue and the puzzles.
If you book another experience while you are there (for a later date) you can earn a 25% discount. You will also receive a card/code to use for 15% off online bookings, good for multiple users and for other locations in Iowa. My suggestion is to pay full price for the Scooby Doo room (because it's not eligible for any discounts) and then use the discounts/codes to book other rooms...

This escape room was like stepping into another dimension where my brain cells both thrived and panicked simultaneously. The puzzles were genius, the atmosphere was spot-on, and I only screamed in terror three times (which I consider personal growth).
But listenâDolores. Let me tell you about Dolores. This woman is the BeyoncĂŠ of escape room guides. She greeted us like sheâd been waiting her whole life for our group specifically. She gave the rules in a way that felt both educational and like we were about to embark on a life-or-death spy mission. And when we got stuck? Dolores swooped in with hints so smooth Iâm convinced she moonlights as a secret agent.
By the end, I didnât just escape the roomâI escaped my own self-doubt. Dolores deserves a raise, a parade, and possibly a national holiday. If her boss is reading this: give her the money. She earned it.
Would I recommend this escape room? Absolutely. Would I sell my soul to be guided by Dolores...
Read moreI've been to a number of Escape Rooms, but went to my first at Escapology. Things started off strong, but we eventually reached a point where we realized part of a puzzle was broken and could not be completed. When we tried to use a tip to call for assistance, no one answered. When a staff member finally came to usher us out, we informed them of the issues with the room. The employee seemed like she was juggling too many plates, and wasn't sure what to say or do when something like this comes up. I don't fault her at all, I think she just didn't have enough support, but this Escape Room is the most expensive I've been to in the area, and for the amount we paid, I think it's reasonable to keep these puzzles maintained.
