I had been seeing Dr Ross for years and had been happy with my eye care. Unfortunately, the young woman at the front desk is extremely rude, condescending, unknowledgeable and, impatient. It has been quite a long time since I have been lambasted to this degree. This all came about after I had the audacity to ask her for a line item cost for the eye exam, refraction and contact lens fitting (3 simple costs). I asked her to strike the contact cost as I wasn't interested in contacts. They have changed their "practice/billing model" and I have to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement from my eye insurance. They also want your regular healthcare insurance information for billing purposes too. $247 is not an insignificant amount and I was simply asking for a breakdown ahead of my appointment. She told me that if I had wanted the 3 standard service costs as line items, I should have shown up earlier (I was on time for my appointment btw). I told her that I wasn't comfortable with not knowing in good faith what my cost was going to be and told her that I should probably cancel and go. After stating my intentions, she responded with "that's fine, you can go" in a snotty and dismissive tone. Super disappointed and will have to find a new doctor for my...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. This was my sons first I eye exam. He was given drops to dilate his pupils. The assistant waited a minute and thought that they were not dilated enough so she dosed him again. He was definitely overdosed with the drops. This appointment was in the morning. My son could not see for the entire day and night. And when he woke up the next morning his vision was still blurry and his eyes were STILL dilated; well over 24 hours and fully dilated. When we were at the visit the doctor did not check his eyes until after he was dilated and of course my son couldnât see anything; everything was a huge blur. So the doctor is asking my son to read off letters which he canât see because heâs dilated. But the worst part about it is she made him feel so bad that he couldnât see like it was his fault. I couldnât believe it I was actually speechless during the visit. The doctor made my son feel horrible and was rude on top of it. Not friendly at all. My seven-year-old son was scared and will probably not want to return to the eye doctor. It is also very clear that this place is all about getting money and not patient care. I really would recommend going anywhere else...
Read moreMy son received a course of therapy at North Shore Eye Health and Wellness for convergence insufficiency. Our entire experience with the team was outstanding. My son has emotional/behavioral challenges, and Dr. Ross and his team were patient, kind, understanding, creative and accommodating with him. They never gave up! The therapist that we worked with on a weekly basis customized his sessions to help my son be successful. She communicated frequently with me to answer questions and support our home exercises. She partnered with me to implement reward systems to help my son participate positively during his sessions, which weren't easy for him (vision therapy is hard work for a kiddo!). Overall, our experience was top notch, and the therapy really helped my son improve his reading skills, which were suffering severely prior to treatment. After treatment, we noticed a significant improvement in his reading, which in turn has helped build his confidence and reduce his anxiety and resistance with reading. Overall, we had a GREAT experience and I'd recommend North Shore Eye to anyone with a child needing vision therapy, especially if your child has...
