This amazing little restaurant in Cedarburg is full of surprises. From the time you walk through the door, to discover how large it is on the inside, to the time you leave, full of delicious breakfast, you will be pleasantly amazed. The first thing that will impress you is the friendly staff. Nobody is pretentious here! The staff makes you feel genuinely comfortable and welcome. Then, the food is just simple and good. You won't get that cute fru-fru stuff you get from some restaurants. An egg is an egg here! Eat it and say, "thank you"!
The restaurant is busy but if you wait for a seat, you will not be disappointed. Order breakfast because its a pancake house!!! Eat what you want and take the rest home for later. It will be good as a snack or late meal when you're hungry again (if that ever happens)! The meal is a VERY good value for the price. I couldn't believe how good a value! You can literally feed your kids here without mortgaging your home and rowboat!
The customers seem to know each other but the staff seems to know and appreciate the customers. Everyone seems to get along and work hard to make your experience a pleasant one. Staff moves fast here to serve everyone efficiently so treat them well when you tip! It's a tough job and they are making things happen so that you're happy...
Read moreI was a disappointed today after my family went out for breakfast. We usually come here a lot and I decided to stray away from my "usual" order of crepes and go with the graceland pancakes as I've been eyeing them up for quite some time. When they came to the table I saw little flakes of black which I assumed to be chocolate chips baked in which wasn't in the description, but I ate it anyway. My first bite was gross, it just tasted of burnt-ness for lack of a better term, so that's when I realized the specks of black were just burnt bits. Figuring it was just the one bite I ate more and I didn't taste any peanut butter chips and I was looking forward to that the most. While I was taking apart the cakes searching for them I didn't find one peanut butter chip and to my surprise the bottom two pancakes were burnt to a crisp on the bottom. I couldn't eat it anymore unfortunately because it was so gross and burnt. The waitress took them off my bill which was very kind, but I sadly went home hungry. We will be returning, but I guess I will just stick to my crepes. How those pancakes ever left the kitchen is beyond me and extremely disappointing for such a great...
Read moreI was driving a friend to doctor's appointment in the area and saw the September special of french toast churros and thought "I wanna eat here before heading back to Illinois". This has become one of my favorite restaurants in southern Wisconsin. This is how I came to the alliteration of the restaurant PJ Piper Pancake House.
The Santa Fe wrap was really juicy. The waitress Liz recommended chipotle mayo for the fries. It had a small kick but what was needed. The fries are average unfortunately, but worked with the sauce.
The Denver omelette was hot and my friend would definitely be willing to order it again.
As for the reason I came in for the Churro French Toast was extremely crunchy and flavorful. The only recommendation I could make was that the icing was mainly over the first slice of toast so maybe just place the icing as you stack the toast up.
What it comes down to was great food, prices, and service with a healthy serving. There's not that many amazing restaurants but this one really stands out from the ones I've eaten at. Im looking forward to going back if im...
