This is my first time writing a negative review, so I’m definitely not a picky or overly critical customer. I’ve been to this place before for take out/bread, and it was fine.
Today I invited a friend to have breakfast there, and boy do I regret it. The woman at the register looks absolutely miserable, and I’d give her a pass for having an annoyed look and harsh tone of voice if she at least did her job well.
The first thing I asked before I made an order was if we could sit upstairs and if the food would be brought to us. She said yes to both, but didn’t give us any pager or number to put on a table. We figured that since it was not busy, they would just find us. I left a tip because they would be bringing the food upstairs and I know times are tough.
We went upstairs and waited 20 minutes, but no one came. Normally, I wouldn’t make a problem for having to check on my order since I know places are short staffed these days; however, we both had small children with us and carrying them up and down the stairs with food is a hassle. Still, I came down with my infant to check on the status of our order just to find it sitting at the pick up window, getting cold. The same employee saw that I had a small child, and didn’t offer to help me with the food. I’d be willing to understand that if the place was busy, but there were only 1 or 2 people in the entire place aside from us, and no one was actually making an order at the moment. I called my friend down to come help me get the food while I watched our children. When I saw my plate, there was a receipt on it that said bacon and cheese even though I ordered a vegetarian avocado omelette. I brought the food downstairs while carrying my infant to clarify that isn’t what I ordered, and the woman from the register said that that is an avocado omelette but the receipt was incorrect…
By the time I got to eat my food, everything was completely cold. My friend barely touched her food. I only ate mine because I was starving. So, unless you love being treated like a bother, being misinformed by the employees, and eating cold eggs for $12, I wouldn’t go there. I’m definitely never coming back.
I can’t believe that in these times when places are struggling to survive the pandemic, people in the service industry can afford treating their...
Read moreRecently I found a large dead bug (the brown, restaurant-infesting one that starts with a C and that everyone in this world hates) inside my drink and here I am trying to get the word out to everyone. The reason why I am not being specific is because of the strange Google filter system that keeps hiding my original, detailed review. If you want the full details go to the popular restaurant review site that starts with a Y and ends with P. That is where I added all the explanation and more pictures.
So the incident was that I discovered an adult sized bug in my drink AFTER I drank most of it. The management apologized but offered no reimbursements until I asked for a small amount that equaled stomach-relieving pills that my friends and I had to purchase from the local pharmacy because of the fear that their drinks, too, could contain infestations. The owner hesitantly agreed (it was only 20~40 dollars) which offended me even more. I decided not to accept the reimbursement. I would rather keep this review up than accept something that would compel me to take this review down. When I post images the management tries to cover it up by posting new images. I don't know what's going on with Google but I need to get the information out there so other customers won't suffer the same issue I had.
The management is being ridiculous with their lack of accountability for the dead bug in my drink (to which I unknowingly drank most of it). I hope more people can become more aware about this place....
Read moreThis is a CUTE Korean cafe that you can hit up on your way to or from the Dulles airport! I came here with my boyfriend before he took me to the airport. We both got their hot chai latte, I got an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant, and he got "the classic" breakfast platter.
First off, the chai is DELICIOUS!! I am slightly picky about my chai (I don't like it too spicy), and I loved theirs. I also thought the sandwich was a really good light breakfast option, and the egg was well cooked. My boyfriend also loved his whole meal.
Second, I love the Korean additions to this place — different pastries you wouldn't see in many other cafes around here, the option for boba drinks (labeled as "milk based smoothies" — not a massive selection, but also, it's not a boba shop so I wouldn't expect differently), a beautiful art exhibition by a local Korean artist with her paintings available to buy. It's so cozy and, from someone who loves visiting Asian cafes and bakeries, seems authentic! (Also, they had Christian music playing the whole time — love that!!)
Third, the cashier was so nice! He gave me a recommendation on what to get since I wanted something light. The food and drinks also came out REALLY fast. Definitely great service here!
The only complaint I'd have to say is that the parking area is pretty small and right beside a busy road, so you have to be careful going in and out when parking.
Overall a lovely experience! I'd love to...
