I regret to share my disappointing experience at Texas Donuts on Lee Highway. On the date of 5/26/23, I noticed a sign indicating an early closure time of 11 am. However, upon arrival at 11:10 am, I observed individuals still present inside the establishment, with customers entering and exiting. Despite being a regular customer in need of just one donut, I was swiftly turned away. Consequently, I opted to visit the adjacent 7-11 store instead. As I made my way back to my vehicle, I witnessed another customer leaving Texas Donut with a box at 11:18 am, followed by another individual arriving at 11:20 am and promptly being served.
While I cannot confirm the intentions behind the inconsistent treatment, the stark contrast in the level of service raises concerns about the possibility of discriminatory practices. Such experiences not only leave a sour taste in one's mouth but also raise questions about the inclusivity and fairness of Texas Donuts on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTheir donuts are so good, as mentioned in other reviews the croughnut is one of the best. All of them are pretty delicious, you canāt go wrong!!
The service could be better, especially if you donāt come often. I asked for a dozen donuts to be split into two boxes and the employee at the counter said āIāll have to charge you for 2 half a dozenā. I told her I didnāt mind. I think it wasnāt what she said itās how she said it. I get it theyāre a small business and Iām all for supporting local small businesses I didnāt mind, but I think a better approach in their mannerisms would have been nice.
Also, Iāve been on a weekend and it can be a bit chaotic and messy since they have tape on the floor as a guide for traffic, but it is a bit confusing, so you may be out of line and then have to either hope the person behind you is courteous to let you go ahead of them or go to the back of the line.
Again, donuts are...
Read moreJust went recently to visit family in Texas and can say that Texas Donuts is EXACTLY like all the donut spots we had in Texas, and in the best way. I looked up buttermilk donuts near me, which was my favorite type when we were down there, and to my surprise and delight, Texas Donuts had them exactly as I got them on my trip. Made my way over this morning to their little location in Centreville, and it's just what I wanted: a little no frills spot with tasty looking fresh donuts and croughnuts on those yellow trays (also a thing in the spots we went to) and I even tried a kolache, which we kept getting told that people in TX got more than donuts (to be fair the cheddar jalapeño one I got was good, but those donuts were even better).
I know this is a long review, but I'm so happy that something we enjoyed so much while visiting Texas was so close by to us at home. Will definitely be back...
