Geiger's Chagrin Falls — Local services in Chagrin Falls

I VERY HIGHLY recommend Geiger's. We visited the Chagrin Falls location this week to get skis and boots for Alex. While there, I decided to upgrade my equipment as well. John took amazing care of us. It took me awhile to decide on my purchases and during that time John helped entertain Alex. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, meticulous, and kind. John offered to have the skis transferred to Lakewood so we didn’t have to drive so far for pickup. I took him up on the offer and scheduled pickup for tomorrow.

In the meantime, I decided I would rather pickup in Chagrin so we could spend some time checking out the amazing shops in the area, grab some ice cream at Jeni’s, and have lunch at Yours Truly. The store is closed today but I called and left a message on the voicemail asking them to keep the skis/boots at Chagrin in hopes they would get the message first thing in the morning and not send them over to Lakewood. Five minutes later, Gordon Geiger, called me back and said he would personally take care of it first thing tomorrow. The owner called me back on a holiday and his day off....wow!

UPDATE 2022. I decided to give this shop a second chance because of the selection available. Same disinterested experience in the ski department upstairs as before, with the added bonus of a rude and dismissive cashier downstairs who seemed to be put out by having to answer the simplest of questions. This store simply has terrible customer service. Never again. Go to Little Mountain in Mentor.

I went to the Chagrin store to buy ski boots. Whoever was behind the counter just seemed totally disinterested in selling any. After wandering the department for about 20 minutes, I finally was approached by the clerk who had seemingly been actively avoiding eye contact or any other attempts to get their attention. I asked about a pair of boots in a specific size, and he quickly stated that they didn't have them in stock, and promptly walked away. He was not busy, simply standing behind the counter. My husband and I came in for two separate reasons, I went in to get my ski bindings adjusted and my husband went in to get a new snowboard and Boots. John did an absolutely incredible job adjusting my skis, he took extra measures to make sure I was taken care of in the time frame I needed. He also gave me some great advice about my ski boots and was just an exceptionally helpful staff member! My husband was helped by Jim to choose a new snowboard and Boots. There was no question that my husband asked that Jim did not have an answer to. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and straight forward guy! He was even able to give me a quick run-through on how my boots worked, even though I didn't get them from the store. Because of Jim's experience with skis and snowboards, my family will most definitely continue to come here for all of our outdoor seasonal needs! We are hoping to get our kids into skiing too and we feel comfortable with the idea that Jim can point us in the right direction. Just an overall incredible...
