I was looking for m&m's and jelly beans at this candy store. There was a ton of candy, more than you could dream! I found my jelly beans which were emptied into the bag by pulling a lever on the container. When I went to find m&m's... it hit me how unsanitary their candy was. The candy that you can buy in bulk is in a typical candy container with NO scoop. I was disgusted when I realized that people would put their hands in the containers to grab the candy, talk about unsanitary. They have a sign saying that ONE scoop is in a wooden basket to use yet there was no scoop. And seriously, one scoop for all the containers they have? I also noticed a box of latex gloves that were hidden in between a candy display which I assume was for people to use to grab the candy. Let's just say that I didn't buy m&m's because the idea of someone not being able to find a scoop.. or notice a glove was too much of a turn off to think I'd be grabbing candy that countless others have stuck...
Read moreMy family and I moved here from the east coast about a year ago. I was having a conversation with one of my regulars at work today about how much I loved the "old fashion" and real sugar sodas. He told me to look up Sweeties. As soon as I was done with work today I looked up Sweeties and went over with my son and his father met us there shortly after. Our dog passed away about a week ago and walking into this store today has pretty much been the first time that I have genuinely smiled since. Let me lead by saying that it is a dangerous place to go to if you grew up on all of the candy/sodas they have there. We left with $100 in bottled soda and candy 🤦♀️ lol, it was worth every penny to see everyone so happy and to bring back some childhood memories. My son wants to make Sweeties a weekly occurrence, I think we will make it a monthly thing for sure because I got way too carried...
Read moreI can’t imagine anyone giving this place a bad review. The whole scoop thing. They have clean scoops in a basket covered in plastic. You pick a clean scoop and then you put it in the dirty bin when you are done. If you see some snotty kids sticking their hands in....nicely ask them not to or get an employee. This is with any candy store that has open bins. Does everyone follow the rules? No. Soooo....on to the good. You want almost any candy you can think of? This is the place. I mean it has just the coolest stuff! So fun to go for every holiday, baby showers, any little thing you can think of. I just love it for adding things to gift baskets. Whatever! They have it. Also one of the only places you can find chocolate covered gummy bears. Soooo good. They have weird sodas, every flavor of jelly bean, all colors of M&Ms. PLUS all the classic candy from way back....
