Taqueria Mi Casita — Restaurant in Chandler

Me and my wife found this place in late 2017. We come from southern California so we have hundreds of good taco shops. Not many picks out here so when we found this place we got excited. The service was as good as the food. We must have eatin there 5 days in a row when we found it. My wife was pregnant so you can imagine we brought them a ton of business just on our own, not counting I recommend anyone I know to this place. But since their re open since remodeling and new hires, their quality of service has gone down.. When they re-opened I went with my wife and baby, these new employees, some young dudes, they were smiling at my wife and talking to each other and giggling. There was even a group of young college girls in nurse scrubs in front of us. But these new employees chose to have google eyes at my wife? Was it because her body wasn’t covered by scrubs? My wife felt so uncomfortable she hasn’t been there since. Occasionally I stop by on my own to get sides for our dinner. Like I said there’s not many good Mexican places out here in my opinion. But tonight I won’t be returning. I picked up a small order, some side dishes. The lady came out and only had half my order. She, took my money and said “thank you”. I told her that she only gave me half my order and I would also like my change lol. It was only a dollar but still. How do you just walk away from someone knowing you owe them change? Missing part of my order is an honest mistake but my change? I told her I’ll wait for the rest of my order and change but she only came out with the rest of my order and no change lol. I said “thank you for my order AND CHANGE” and she just walked away. I know it’s dumb it was just a dollar. But say, they have 1,000 customers and they cheat them all out of $1. They just made a shady $1,000. I rather drive the extra mile and trust and believe I have sent a lot of customer this way. At least 20 people. I’ll be letting them know not to eat here either. Can’t even bring your wife with you because if she has a big butt and a nice body theyre guna drool all over her right in front of you. Never mind the young respectable nurses who are probably single. Just not “dressed up”. This place is disgusting. Btw their meat is kept buffet style and they microwave their fish tacos... place is super pricey and not worth it especially now with their customer service. I know it’s hard times for people right now, but right now is a time for our Raza to have extra...

First of all I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo. I could tell the burrito is going to suck because the chorizo wasn't even red it was a pale gross looking Brown so I knew that it wasn't even seasoned. Then the grill was all caked up in Grease and not even clean and I'm talking about at 8:00 in the morning. Then he went on to swap everything onto the grill didn't even beat the eggs just do everything into a big bunch which we call in Spanish cochinero. I just knew that the food was going to suck I sat down I did give it a benefit of the doubt I took a bite and I had like literally drink it down with water. I immediately got up asked for a tin foil wrapped it up acted as if I needed to go and right when I walked out towards the car I conveniently found a trash bin which I immediately threw in the whole burrito less one bite. I'm not being mean I know when the food is decent at the very least and this was just entirely gross.

Let's move on to atmosphere they had some obnoxious dude that work there literally screaming at the top of his lungs thinking that he was being very funny and wouldn't shut the hell up and you can just tell by the even the other workers that they felt uncomfortable with his loudness and he's walking around with his chest out thinking that he's big and macho while he was just being extremely annoying. Will never ever step into this place nor would I even recommend it. I hate to do these types of reviews but the place was just trash somehow I feel that they probably invested a lot of money in getting themselves ranked number one on Yelp because no way no how is...

Well in one word: underwhelming.

The staff were very friendly! They greeted us when we came in and we got to experience them cleaning everything! Which was cool because i usually worry about hygiene practices with food. I saw them all wearing gloves and being careful handling food. It took a bit longer to get our food, but that was okay. My husband ordered a carne asada burrito with everything and i ordered a carne asada quesadilla with everything. Now the food... it looks bomb!! My husband and i were so excited to have authentic mexican food. When we started eating, my husband started to experience many fatty/chewy bits that we feel couldve been cut out. There were many bits of meat that were overcooked and some even burnt! Lol he couldnt finish his burrito as it was also too soggy and he didnt like the bland rice. He ate a good portion of it though! My quesadilla also had a ton of chewy fatty bits and burnt meat bits. Its a strange experience when you're spitting out meat for being too chewy and too burnt lol. Some meat pieces were good! The meat at least had a good flavor when i could get a good bite. I guess it is authentic mexican food in the sense that i felt like my drunk mexican dad was cooking carne asada haha. Also the salsa wasnt spicy and the "horchata" is not homemade. It is dispensed from a machine and it tastes highly syrupy and artificial. The "agua de melon" was worse. It really is a charming little place though, so maybe we will be back to try other menu items like menudo! Hopefully we will experience...
