Seriously why would anyone rate this place low? I get there may be fatigue on the whole "50s/60s" era dinners but Lenny's is a wonderful reminder of how good simple can be. So I won't even really touch on how well that in and of itself is done. I'll simply focus on the main points here. The burgers are cooked to perfection, the fries are crisp, and for a smaller joint, it has a surprisingly large number of menu items. One of the best aspects of all of this is the price. For the 2 of us, I paid roughly 32 dollars. For the same price at Sonic or McDonald's, I'm getting a lousier meal. My wife and I got the #1 and #2 respectively, and a corn dog, (the standard and a double. I always say the best way to judge a place is by its most basic food. If that isn't good, odds aren't high for the rest.) Both burgers were flavorful and filling. The taste greatly reminded me of a home cooked burger. Something you won't get at the Golden Arches. We both got the sweet potato fries as a side and we were pleasantly surprised at how well they were cooked and how good they tasted. The corn dog was super crispy and had the perfect dog/crust ratio. Tasted just like those amazing county fair dogs. The ice cream is creamy and dreamy, with many different flavors and options available. Perfect for a hot AZ day. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and deserves praise for keeping the inside of this establishment SPOTLESS. I mean it. Not many places like this stay this clean. The walls, tables, floors, windows and counters gleamed with cleanliness. One glance at the open kitchen behind the main counter showed the trend continued back there as well. Overall, Lenny's deserves all the positive vibes it can muster. I haven't been this impressed with a local establishment in quite some time. Hopefully they continue on successfully in this way for many years to come.

I just discovered an excellent little unique burger joint, apparently native to the region...!! I was provided with exceptional customer service by Gabriel - who was very patient with me, confidently answering all of my questions as a 1st time customer. I have always felt that the importance of building a team whose positive energy, empathy toward the customer experience and focus on quality assurance cannot be understated -- and Gabriel is a prime example of what it looks like when you get it right in the field of customer service. Were I the owner, I would sit up and pay attention. Were I his Supervisor or Manager, I would be quick to point to him as an example of my team-building skills and training prowess. While I may not be in a position to give him the acknowledgement that either of those roles could and should give Gabriel, I just wanted to take a moment to point him out as the reason that I - in my role as the REVIEWING CUSTOMER - will ABSOLUTELY be returning to Lenny's Burgers, in the future (ofc the peanut butter & banana shake, patty melt and onion rings don't hurt, either 😁)... I had an easy, pain-free experience, and will definitely be back. Edit: Also, it appears that their owner is attentive, as well, reinforcing my positive outlook on this establishment...!! Respectable leadership is crucial to ensuring the health of company's core values. I wish that this understanding was ubiquitous in business, but I feel that this is something that can only be learned by a teacher if that teacher is also a mentor... Bravo...!! Well done, and a strong finish, no less...!! 👏 👏 👏 I would rate your business even more highly, if it were in any way within my power to do so. 💯

I haven't visited Lenny's in years, so I decided to take my son there today. I paid $31.02 for 2 burger meals. The food was just ok and the price was way too high. They also charge a credit card processing fee. You'd think paying $31 for 2 burger meals would be enough, but nope. The cc fee was $.98, making my bill exactly $32. Is the cc processing fee really 3.159% or did they just round it up to the nearest dollar? They also ask for a tip. I don't typically tip at fast food restaurants, but I assumed they must wait on you while you're there or something, which I could justify asking for a tip. Well, after serving the food I never saw them at my table again. The restaurant was empty, so I suppose they had the time. So, apparently, asking for a tip wasn't related to service, but instead was just a way to see if the customer would pay even more for their over priced food. Lastly, I asked if they could cook my fries well done. They said yes. I guess they forgot or something, because the fries definitely weren't well done. Again, we were the ONLY customers there, so you'd think they would be able to get that right. I just personally hate soft fries. I don't eat them. If you don't want to cook them well done, I would much rather they tell me no because, then, I just wouldn't buy them. It would save me money. If they aren't well done/crispy, I may eat a few, but they're mostly just trash now, so it's a waste of money for me. I hate returning food, so that just wasn't an option for me.

I have been passing by this new addition to the neighborhood and, knowing after summer cleaning, I didn't want to cook as well. That instigated me to finally take the chance on a new burger and I am now sitting sad and still hungry after my pick up. I ordered the hatch green chile burger combo which is not listed online but on their menu board at location.

The place is easy enough to get to and the staff seemed very nice (I did drive thru), so that got them star #1. Star #2 comes from the fried zucchini that I substituted for the fries in my combo.

They lost the other three because:

  1. Fried Zucchini apparently doesn't come with ranch and the ranch cup that you can get is less than 2 oz.
  2. When you say yes to getting ranch with your zucchini they don't tell you they are charging you 30 cents for it
  3. MOST IMPORTANT: spending over almost $6 for a burger should mean that your burger should taste pretty awesome. Yet, mine was horrible! After the first bite I thought something seems off but can't put my finger on it. Second bite, I can taste pickle (normal) lettuce(normal), tomato and onion (normal), bun (soggy but seemingly normal), cheese (basic non melty american), green chile slab (prefer chopped but at least it is there) and meat (dry but doesn't appear odd). Then bite 3, something is leaving a bad taste in my mouth, time to pick it apart and try each bit to see who is ruining which by all looks should be pretty good. After a small nibble of each item separate, eureka! Its the meat. It tasted like it had been kept a little past it's date and got the flavor of a freezer/fridge that isn't kept well. You know the meat I mean, that one that you got from the grocery store and forgot about it for almost aa wee and then see it's become the greyish brown color and you still want to see if it has any potential so you open the package and smell it. Then you curse yourself for forgetting it and toss it in the trash. That is what it tasted like so I was very much done.

Thankfully, the root beer is as delicious as it should be so the sweet brown sugary liquid has erased that taste from my mouth.

End result, would go back totally for the fried zucchini but maybe make my own ranch dip. Also, I would try dessert or maybe a hot dog, but this burger has made me not want anyone's...

I've eaten here several times with friends. If you like quiet 50s music and decor, a good burger, milkshake, float or cone then it is one of the best values around and delicious. Gluten free buns are also available. If I could make a recommendation to the owner, I'd suggest stocking malt vinegar and a better tartar sauce. The beer battered fish is quite good but these items are needed.

EDIT: One star loss, here is why - After recommending it to my friends, they requested a gluten free bun sandwhich to the order-taker. We paid and waited. After a significant delay, the sandwiches for our table were ready and not one was marked as gluten free (though strangely one was marked "American"). When asked about this, they stated neither was GF, and offered a replacement, then bringing a toasted GF bun, but no replacement sandwich. Since gluten causes contamination issues with some people, this is the wrong response. As a minimum, they should ask if this is ok, but did not. Finally, on presenting just the bun, we explained they need to replace the sandwich. Rather than leaving the previous sandwich which we asked to be GF, they insisted "we can't give away free food". They were going to take it back into the kitchen (before providing the replacement) but instead settled on wasting it by putting it into the trash. I'm reasonably certain my friends won't be returning thanks to this experience. The correct actions I would recommend: Training - ensure people understand which is GF and which is not, and to mark the order as such. If a mistake is made, take the blame. Offer a replacement bun or sandwich whatever is preferred by the customer (probably a good idea to explain a whole sandwhich takes a bit longer but is an option). Don't take rejected food back to the kitchen (pretty sure this violates food safety), and don't force wasting of food. I should also add that I think our food was also made in the wrong order such that others who ordered after us got theirs first (as mentioned in other negative reviews) so you may wish to check on this as well. This also goes for other food requests. People have allergies, and preferences, and making mistakes like this can be very costly when things go wrong. I...

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! To go or drive thru should be fine but DO NOT EAT HERE!!! If I could give negative stars, I would... First off, I noticed when walking up to the restaurant, the entry mats were rolled up and placed on the garbage can next to the door, restricting access to only one door. Weird but whatever. Then I saw all the booth tables pulled out to the middle, for what reason we'd later find out... Next, the girl at the cash register was cordial but not super excited to serve us which is fine, who cares. The annoying part was when my fiancé gave her $40.28 on a $24.18 bill. "It's only $0.18," she said. "I kno," my fiancé responded, "I was looking to get back a dime..." Rather than inputting the amount given into the register, she attempts to do the math in her head and lets us stand there waiting. Upon seeing our impatience, she pulls out her phone and starts trying to do it on her calculator. "$16.10," my fiancé says a little peeved at this point. The cashier keeps going on her phone, gets change from another register and comes back with, "$16.10 is your change, thank you." Food is ready, they call our number, we pick it up and sit down at the bar top to eat since something is going on with all the booths obviously. At that point, a guy comes out and starts sweeping. Ok, that explains it. All of um at once, no. One by one. So why couldn't we sit at one of the other ones? Why pull all the tables when there's still customers coming in? Either way, it was shortly after that when we were forced to leave. The guy comes out with a mop and the place instantly fills with Clorox fumes. It was overwhelming and hard to eat at that point. Smell affects taste, as everyone knows and it was then that my fiancé stopped eating and covering her nose. It was getting to me too and I'm a mechanic, I'm used to smells of fumes. I asked for a to go bag, we packed up our food and left. Keep in mind, it was 8:30pm!!! Their website says they close at 11pm and the outside of the restaurant may have said 10pm, but either way that was uncalled for and somewhat disrespectful. The only good thing I have to say, is that the food was good. Same as I've had at other Lenny's...
