The Story — Local services in Chapel Hill

I threw my wife’s 40th birthday party her and it was an amazing event thanks to Krista, Liz, Ruby, Beatrice and her team and of course Jamil.

We rented out the entire space, all 3 floors, and had a banquet, followed by a dance party, and rooftop smoking parlor. The venue more then met all of our desires, it was beautiful by itself and easy also to decorate, with so many little details, such as dimmable lights, table cloths, chairs etc already provided.

The food - was another level, we’re used to epic quality from the Med Deli, and they more than delivered that with an incredible selection of options to feed our guests. Everything was hot and well flavored, and they even accommodated desserts and snack options that we also brought for guests.

Beatrice, who was our floor captain, ran an incredibly tight ship, and she was a step above in all her interactions with us. We provided her a very strict schedule and she kept us on it rather than the other way around!

Very impressed with this venue, their food, the overall level of professionalism, and the incredible service.

This venue was perfect for our wedding reception! It's a beautiful space, clean and has a great energy. In addition, there are three things that made our wedding reception extra special:

First, the attention to detail. Jamil and his team paid attention to everything from the lighting during dinner to the lighting when we began dancing. They took all of our wants and needs into account and made the experience delightful.

Second, the food. We catered with Mediterranean Deli and the food was so fresh and delicious as they basically wheeled it over from their main restaurant down the street. The food was also so beautifully prepared and presented... the dinner was both delicious and visually impressive.

Third, the customer service and experience. We felt taken care of. We felt safe. We felt at home. I think the feeling of home that Jamil and his team brought to our experience was my wife's favorite part about our reception there.

Excellent venue for events! We had an event for 150ish people at The Story and it was perfect. A "main level" that's open, with beautiful wood floors and exposed brick. Plenty of room for welcome table, food (which was FABULOUS, catered by Med Deli and seemed a hit all around), deejay, dancing. A downstairs level with more seating and quieter for folks who wanted to get away from the main event. And a very nice roof deck for people who wanted to be outdoors...and also we spilled out onto the street right in front of The Story for even more outdoor space and for people with mobility issues to be able to be outdoors and feel included. Liz/staff were really responsive and had things set up as we hoped, so we had very little to do in terms of set up -- just the "custom stuff" we wanted to put out at the welcome table and on the walls. We considered other venues in Chapel Hill but are SO GLAD we chose this one. It's truly a step above other options we found in...
