The Northside District — Restaurant in Chapel Hill

It’s very rare that I write a review or complain on Google reviews. But I just did not feel welcome at the Northside District.

I was excited to try it out because it had so many high reviews, and wanted to order food for takeout. When I got there I waited at the bar to order. Since the bartender was making drinks for so many people, I thought that I would wait around the cash register to quickly place an order and then let her keep making drinks for others. She looked me off EVERYTIME she swiped somebodies card. She started to serve people who got to the bar AFTER ME, and only asked for my order after the bar had completely cleared out.

Even when getting my food from the server the way she said “have a good night” just seemed like she was ready for me to get out of the area.

The food was really good so an extra star for that but the service was one of the worst I’ve received...

This is our go to bar. We don't go out often but when we do we always end up here. We intended on going to the Baxter the last we went out about a month ago but we realized that we just prefer Northside. The heaters outside make sitting on the patio worth it in the winter. The bartenders are always personable, skilled, knowledgeable and efficient. Every food item I've ever tried is always super tasty and hot They can get very busy but it's worth the wait. One critique would be that they might need a second bartender working nights they're busy but they may already and I've just never seen it as again, we don't...

Pleasantly surprising, perfect portion size, comfort food and interesting twists on small plate favorites with friendly service will keep me coming back for more! After 10PM, particularly in this town, one's options outside the long-time-banned-fast-food death huts decline sharply - Northside to the rescue! The mac and cheese is the best I've had south of Boston that wasn't at a 5 star joint (and at least twice the price) and the sliders are slap your mother (sorry mom) awesome! If for some reason you don't like it, you're out six bucks...
