A quick preview to give you the flavor & feel of being on the charter sail boat "Schooner Pride" across the Charleston Harbor in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. Check local brochures, the phone book, and/or at hotel lobbies information kioskes to find the schedule that works for you. Be aware some are booked with TOO many passengers - you'll feel like a sardine on deck with little room to move around. We found midweek around midday are best since the tourism is lighter than on the weekends. Often if you wait until the last minute, you can find out if there is too many to make the trip special and/or fun by simply walking up - but that requires a very flexible schedule on your part. My wife & I can't stand being STUCK in a crowd, so the latter option is the one we've generally gone with. Either way - it's always a fun ride. I just prefer to be able to roam around & check things out freely. (Being an old engineer & Marine will do that, LOL!).
I do gotta say I LOVED the moonlit cruise - had a full moon - and quite nice. The crew is always accommodating, nice, and willing to put up with a guy like me who always has about a thousand questions. (What? Why? How?)
I highly recommend it if you've got the means, but DO try to book a mid-week trip, preferably during lighter hours, if you want maximum enjoyment. Or if you like a party crowd - they get some of those, too! :-D

Read moreMy family visited the Schooner Pride today for a 10:30 AM sail.
We paid about $60.00 per person for a 90 minute boat cruise and were disappointed with the experience.
It started with a person taking a paid family photo of us prior to boarding. No complaints about that as a paid service, the problem is he left the dock before we were able to get off the boat and look at the picture.
On the website it states you can bring food on board but no drinks. I figured that's because they want to sell alcohol. No complaints, they should absolutely be entitled to do that, but for $60.00 a person do you think they'd give you a bottle of water, no they don't.
Little information was shared about where we were going and what we were passing. The two young ladies that were working as crew also serve the water and alcohol. They have excellent personalities and went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed.
On the way back to the dock, the captain stopped the boat in the sweltering sun to thank us for joining them and make a joke about being welcome back as long as we bought another ticket.
He also reminded us that the young ladies that were serving the drinks were acting as bartenders, are not paid much and would be welcoming tips.
Not much value for about...
Read moreOwner, Beth, yelled at me for being on the property looking at cats. I fed them today after seeing a few of them, and she began yelling at me to get off the property and get rid of the cats. I don’t know anything about the cats, I just saw animals in need and helped. She began getting aggressive and telling me that I was rude for being on the phone while she was yelling at me. I was on the phone before she came over to me talking to my family about a family emergency. She then yelled at me to get off the property that is a rental for many different companies. This company is about watching animals in the wild and should care about animals. I’m very disappointed in this organization for having someone that careless about living things, confrontational, angry, and aggressive involved. I am not comfortable being yelled at in public and almost cried. My parents were worried for me and didn’t want to get off the phone because of what they heard her saying to me. I’m honestly so uncomfortable and have not experienced someone be this unkind to someone they didn’t know anything about. All I wanted to do was take care of cats I saw, instead I dealt with being attacked by a lady who decided I was responsible for...
