First, let me apologize for not having everyone’s name that handled my care. This is why I’m adding the date and time of my visit.
I arrived at the Atrium ER SOUTHPARK on 2/3/24 between 3:30-4:00 am with upper right side back pain and right arm numbness and tingling. This was my first time here and I heard nothing but positive feedback on this ER. I’m leaving the date and time because I want everyone that was there at that time to get credit for the excellent service. Starting with the security guard that helped me locate the entrance to the building , the register assistant that checked me in. To the clinical nurses, provider Caleb Gethart, X-ray staff and lab. My wait in the lobby was about five minutes once I was checked in and I didn’t have to wait for anyone, they were waiting for me and started working on me right away. Everyone that walked in my room was AMAZING and PROFESSIONAL. I was as put at ease with them plus they made a laugh a little even though I was in pain and scared. Their bedside matter was awesome. One of the male nurses even wiped a tear from my eye and cleaned my glasses 🤓. I’ve NEVER been treated like this from an entire staff all at once. Seeing was believing when I heard about this ER, I had my doubts but they PROVED me wrong. I will definitely brag about my experience at the ATRIUM SOUTHPARK ER. Once I got home and was able to rest with the medication given to me there. I felt so much better. The entire staff on 2/3/24 between 3:30-4:00 am did EVERYTHING RIGHT. PLEASE GIVE MY KUDOS TO EVERYONE THAT WAS WORKING ON THAT MORNING. I want them all to know how much I appreciated their time, hard work and professionalism given to me. I normally don’t write reviews but I could not let my treatment from your staff go unnoticed. You always hear about the bad experiences but I had to tell you about the great service. Thank...

All the rooms were full. I had to wait 20 to 30 minutes in a triage chair right next to the ER, so they could see me. I was in awful chest and back pain while waiting. During that time PA Caraline Kebles came over to me, got my history, asked all kinds of questions. She put in all of my tests and medications, so when I got a room, I wouldn't wait. She was kind and patient.
The nurses, two or three of them (maybe everyone was working together) were all super kind. I can't recall their names. They gave me strong pain medicine and a stomach med and we waited for my test results to return. In that time all of the nurses, and the student nurse who took blood, all kind and went above and beyond. I tend to make jokes when in pain, they even laughed at my awful jokes.
Anyhow, I do have a neck condition that will require surgery, and I was glad to find out it was probably a flare up, rather than some other serious thing I thought it might be. Something that might've kept me in the hospital for days. Thank God it wasn't that. When PA Kebles came in to let me know I was going home she was kind, and answered all of my questions, etc. She didn't blow me off. She's one of the best ER docs/nurses I've had in quite some time.
I understand working in an ER is probably one of the most stressful jobs, and not everyone can help at all times. Not even this ER, but it's by far the best in town. I don't need everyone's attention when in an ER, I only ask, please don't be rude. These folks were nothing but kind whenever they came into my room. Kind enough for me to want to write a review, which I never do.
If in midtown, skip vail Atrium and Novant ER, drive a few miles to this one, you'll get the care and...
Read moreYou need to know, the treating physician was fine and very nice and seemed caring. However, my low score is because the nurses were the worst I’ve ever experienced. The male nurse was arrogant, did NOT even want to walk me to the bathroom after I had fallen, was absolutely horrible to me in my time of duress and pain. He was totally disrespectful to me. I literally had to beg him to help me to the bathroom. He challenged me and said, “you can’t walk yourself, you walked in yourself”! In fact, I had help as I had fallen and was not secure in my ability not to trip again and was in excruciating pain. Then when they released me, I asked for a female nurse to help me put my shirt back on as I had hurt my shoulder and chest. She came in with an attitude and was as cold as ice. I just could not believe i was in the south where people are supposed to have “southern hospitality” and you would think that would be abundant in a “hospital” setting. They both made me feel like and inconvenience and very unwelcome. That is truly bizarre and unacceptable.
As for the doctor, he was fine but I’m not sure why he sent me home without lancing my finger which was another reason I ended up there. It was infected and even though I’m taking antibiotics, it looks worse and is still very painful. I’m back home in New Jersey and will have to go to urgent care again after visiting two urgent care clinics in Charlotte, first for the finger at the Arboretum location where I never saw the doctor after waiting several hours, and then later after I fell I ended up in the Southpark facility. I’m really disappointed in the Atrium experience and I’m considering filing a...
