World Market — Local services in Charlotte

There are some items sold in store that you cannot find on their website. When I purchased some incense I was taking a chance that I thought was covered by their return policy.

On the day that I bought these incense I was in the store and quickly Googled said policy (due to there being no way to even review these products online -- on the World Market website) and the very first thing you see is that "if you are unhappy for any reason" yada yada. So I felt it was safe to swipe even without a way for consumers to review these particular items..

I'm not in the business of wasting my money, but it looks like that's what I did here. There wasn't anything they could do in the store nor when I called the 1-800 number. The girl at the other end of the line said my only option was to discard the product because "there's nothing in it for them" to accept my return now that I'm experiencing "buyers remorse." That's not what this is. These incense are cheaply made and unless you want the air to just smell like smoke and nothing else, don't buy them. They're little more than decoration. Only the rose scent smells faintly of "something." Maybe it's roses, but neither I nor my family can tell.

Funnily enough, my niece recommended I try some incense from HiLife and they were better, by far. 100x better. One of the scents I chose filled my entire home with deliciousness. I would have never guessed.

Anyway, the one star here is because of the bait and switch of their return policy overall and because their crew could have been more empathetic about it. As I said, I'm not in the business of just wasting my money. And I thought I did my due diligence. "For any reason" feels pretty safe. Unfortunately, I didn't foresee that there was fine print after this. They're slick....

Used to go here a lot, but I can't give them any more money. Their cashier persuaded me to purchase a $100 in solar lights I was asking about by telling me if I don't like them I can return them within 60 days. They were super fragile and if they clinked from the wind they would shatter over your head. I went to return them and the people tell me I'm not allowed to because they are used. I asked them to update their employees since I was told something different and I was told "all my girls have worked here for a long time and would never have said that". So first I'm lied to and then told I'm a lier. Should have just bought them on Amazon like...

Visit this location with my daughter and my grand daughter. She was recouping from surgery. She was so ready to get out the house and world market was where she wanted to go. She end up with almost a full buggy of items. She felt good after that. This is a nice store for kitchen items. I like a few of the furniture but I'm not big on a lot of the modern piece. Maybe a few pieces. I love their rugs. Nice selection. Love love love the candles. A little over priced on...
