
Honestly the food was just okay. Nothing has topped the food and customer service I’ve experienced at Oh My Soul. Perhaps my expectations were high because I ate there first plus all of the views had me excited to try something different.
And let me say this, I am NOT officially a vegan, however, I have been listening to my body more and meat & dairy just haven’t been sitting well for some time. I’ve been eating only plant based and vegan meals for the last 20 days and I LOVE IT! My goal is simply to eat cleaner. (I don’t like labels 😂 )
BACK TO THE REVIEW: With all the hype I drove 30 minutes to try this place out only to be greeted by an extremely talkative cashier who was also outside talking loudly on her cell phone as I drove up. By the time I walked in, she was back at the register. I’m like wait she couldn’t have had time to wash her hands. (Which later I’d see her making people’s drinks; etc so yes hand washing is important.) I’m not saying she didn’t, but it was awfully fast if she did.
As the cashier is taking my order, she was super hyper and walked away from behind the register, mid sentence and begins cleaning off the tables from other guests, while saying, “I’m listening.” I just stood there because I couldn’t believe it.
Raven, one of the managers notices it and comes over and politely takes my order. I then said, That was rude and very unprofessional. Her response was, I know. I’m so sorry. We are a new restaurant…; etc. She was a sweetheart. The cashier comes back and tries to jump right back as Raven is talking to me. I keep my composure, don’t say a word to her while keeping my eyes and attention on Raven as she concluded my order.
I believe the cashier means well, but all the extra “baby” and “honey”; etc isn’t really professional. Ma’am or sir will suffice. The way she was talking to Raven, I would have thought that she was the manager. I’m not sure how old Raven is but I’d encourage her to take the lead, speak up and have the cashier tone down a bit and focus on one customer at a time.
Also, she proceeded to make my smoothie, but I had already quietly and politely asked Raven to please make my stuff in which she agreed. Again she was VERY apologetic and so sweet which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.
The cashier (pardon me, I didn’t catch her name while I was there) then asks Raven why I didn’t want her to make it; etc. Although I could hear the ENTIRE conversation from my seat in the lobby, I didn’t utter one word and sat there quietly, reading “Homecoming” by Dr. Thema Bryant (you should check it out by the way.)
I ate my food and left.
Now to the food:
I ordered the Where Art Thou Romeo burger with tater tots and a strawberry smoothie. I ate it but honestly the only thing I liked were the tots.
The burger was tiny but a little tasty, and the smoothie was disgusting.
Would I go back to this place again? Nah. But cheers to Raven for helping us both get through that very interesting moment today!

At first when I got to the restaurant I figured I’d just go thru the drive thru after waiting roughly 12min at the drive thru intercom someone finally walked out to my car and told me I had to come inside to order because they were short staffed. Slight inconvenience but whatever. I get inside and no customers were inside just me but the atmosphere seemed cold and unwelcoming considering they don’t greet you. Instead you walk to a counter only to see someone with their head down on the their phone. I proceed to order I got the Romeo BBQ Bacon Burger with Beyond Meat, fries with the house sauce, black cherry drink and strawberry milkshake. The burger was a sloppy mess not well assembled everything was hanging out the bun as if I ordered everything on the side which I didn’t and my strawberry milkshake was a brownish purplish tint which it was NOT that color when I ordered the same drink from the food truck. None the less let’s talk about the food. The food was SOOOOOOOO GGOOOOODDDDDDD (after I reassembled the burger). Both the burger and fries were hot and fresh, I LOVED the black cherry drink definitely was a different taste but in a really great way.It paired well with the burger and fry for sure. The milkshake was perfect minus the odd color,once I got pass the color the milkshake it self was perfect and such a refreshing treat which is rare kind of hard to find a delicious vegan milkshake!!! Oh and the house sauce for the fries was out of this world crazy good I could eat that sauce for breakfast lunch and dinner it’s very tasty on the fries!!! Moreover, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant. It's evident that you and your team take great pride in maintaining a hygienic environment for your guests, which is truly commendable.
Lastly, the pricing was reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service provided. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that offers such value without compromising on taste or experience.
In conclusion, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you and your team for creating such a wonderful dining destination. Romeo's has undoubtedly earned a loyal customer in me, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit.
