I live between this and Forbidden City. I've been coming here to Buffet King for over 10 years. Probably close to 15 now. They're always friendly & courteous. There is one lady that's snappy but I believe it's because that's just her personality. She's always been nice to us, but I've seen her be snappy with others. Some dismiss it, some get offended. But she seems to have a lot on her as from what I can tell. She's the lady over everything there. So she has a huge responsibility. And she's good at what she does if that's her job. Every time I've ever been here. It's been clean. From the entrance, to the floors, the buffet area is constantly being wiped & restocked. The tables, chairs, booths too. The walls are clean too. (Yes I've been to some places that have food stuck to them) The food is always fresh, hot and very good. I can't speak for the seafood, I'm allergic. Husband says it's really good though. Our waitresses have always been on point, friendly & very helpful. We went to Forbidden City once. I said nope. I'll drive the extra 5 miles & continue going to Buffet King. (OH yes....it's very well lit up here too, even in the back, which I appreciate). The only complaint I have. And it isn't anything at all to do with Buffet King... it has to do with the customers that go here. #1... The last 2 times we have gone. There have been people, grown & children. Coming in, while still dressed for bed. For the love of God...please people. Have some integrity & respect for yourselves. #2... adults please...teach your children table manners at home so they'll know how to act in public. Throwing food, screaming, coughing and sneezing without covering their faces is not food dinner etiquette nor good manners. #3...adults please, lead by example. This last trip in. We had to sit next to someone (thankfully we were about to leave) yet still had to sit the last few minutes of our meal listening to obnoxious coughing, sucking snot into their throats, hacking, being louder & louder. An over grown 20 something year old dressed as if he had just rolled out of bed as well...pushing chairs around, they had canes that kept falling over & people were having to step over them. It was just insanely rude as far as their behavior. So if adults would adult. Children won't mimick what's seen. Come on...
Read moreI will never go hear to eat again. I was only being honest when ask if everything was OK. I then told her in a low voice that No it was not. I pointed out how hard the eggrolls were and how old alot of the food looked and tasted. I honestly don't think I should have even paid the bill. It was that bad. I only ate a few bites of what I got because that's all it took to know how awful it truly was. When I gave her my thoughts and opinion on the food the service then became very unpleasant. The waitress was very rude and I had to flag her down it felt like to ask for a refill on my drink. They were afraid honestly I think that I was not gonna pay my bill ,because I pointed out the hard as rock eggrolls and dried out food. I paid however I felt robbed and as if the 3 drinks I got were the most expensive drinks I've ever had because that's all that was even worth paying for. The waitresses their are very rude and very inconsiderate . I told her it was my first time there but it was also my last.. I never heard we apologize or nothing Any how I don't recommend going here anytime soon if ever. If their not careful they are gonna make people sick and I know if I got sick what I'd do. The is no excuse for this kind of service. Maybe they need to be inspected and truly that might be a good thing. From now on I will learn to check out any kind of buffet before sitting down to eat, and knowing I have waitress around me that are happy not those who make you uncomfortable. ...
Read moreMy wife and I used to eat here regularly. We stopped coming here about 6 months ago due to rudeness of host/cashier.
We came back today to see if that had changed. The person has not made any improvement. When we entered, a were still about 30 feet from the register and host. The host announced for us to follow her. She was around the next corner and at our table before we got to the first corner. If they added a simple "hello" or "welcome", the experience would feel completely different. I would also suggest waiting for the guests to get near you before hastily heading to the table.
We like the food here. The general tso chicken is my favorite.
There was an issue with our hot and sour soup today. Both of us noticed that it tasted wrong. There was a chemical taste to it. We notified staff so they could address it, but the soup remained on the bar for at least the next 40 minutes.
We watched them taste test the soup off of our table out of our bowl. I'm not sure if that's allowed, but it seemed gross at the time. They responded that they didn't know if it was bad or not because they didn't eat that product.
I ended up getting sick repeatedly before leaving. I had to go to urgent care a short time later and was treated for food poisoning.
The wife ended up getting sick about 20 minutes after me. We haven't decided if she will need medical treatment as well.
This trip to lunch became the most expensive meal we...
