My husband and I were just in here, from the moment we walked in we felt like employees were making sure to "keep an eye on us". For context he is black, I am white. He is the one who alerted me to this happening, but I didn't believe him until we got up in line. A manager walked up to start "directing people" to the open lanes about the same time we got up there, we were only the second person in line for a minute, but fine I work in retail I get it. We got in line, the sweet cashier rang up our stuff and she was very kind, there was a price discrepancy on a discovery science kit we got for our son for Christmas, she fixed it and had to have this same manager override it (his name was ceasar). We paid cash, got our change, and left. On the way out my husband said he thinks we got too much back, and we did. We were supposed to receive $35, she handed us $37. So I ran in to give back her $2 because again, I work in retail and don't want to be the reason anyone's drawer is short. Well when I went back in, literally not even 2 minutes later, Ceasar was nowhere to be seen. I looked for him specifically because the cashier we had was ringing someone out and I didn't want to interrupt so I was gonna just stop him and let him give it back to her. There was at least 3 people in line from what I could see, so more than when he and I walked up and he was "directing people". All this to say it feels very much like we (my husband, really) were profiled and hawkeyed from the moment we walked in, and as soon as we left and the door didn't ring that we were stealing the manager left the front end. I recognize that much of this could be coincidence, and that it's the holidays so I understand security being tighter, and I truly hope we are wrong. But this just felt so yucky and I don't know that we'll feel comfortable returning not only to this location, but to kohls anywhere. The only reason we came for the first time to begin with is because my sister raves about the place and has a credit card through them, so we thought we'd check it out. I'll definitely be telling her about our experience here, and won't be surprised if she stops shopping there as well. The only reason it was 2 stars and not one was because we liked the cashier lady, she was elderly and clearly disabled and we think it's wonderful that they're providing her a job! She...
Read moreThe store's plan for staffing people/registers on Thanksgiving night was really unfortunate, for people who chose to wait 2+ hours in the store, ouch! I walked out shortly after walking in. It was a ghost town on Black Friday however (crazy!), so we picked up two items. Went back in today to exchange them, and while at the counter a customer who ordered a product online to pick up in store on Thanksgiving, was back for the 3rd day in a row trying to pick up the item. The cx rep and manager were both telling him they hadn't fulfilled it from within their own store. The customer had went and grabbed the item from the shelf himself, and they said they couldn't sell it to him at the sale price, but he could buy it, take it home, and come back when he got an email that they had his item ready and return it, and pick up the other. What?! That has to be the worst excuse for taking care of a customer that I have ever seen. I think the more concerning part was that the employees were not even sympathetic. Poor customer, they were soooo frustrated, and I was...
Read moreI went to use Kohl's to use their service to return items for Amazon. That process was quick and easy. Just be sure to start the return process at home and get the bar code to bring into the store. The return station is located in the back of Kohl's, right corner area. The clerk's at the front will assist with the information as you walk in. Kohl's itself has been my go-to store for fall and winter clothes. I'm a bit older and I don't like wearing prints that look like sofa material. The spring and summer clothing tends to go too young for my style. I do not have a summer body type to show off! The best time to shop at Kohl's is when they have sales and Kohl's Cash. There is plenty of parking; the clerks are very friendly; and the store is clean. In the Kohl's complex is a Target and a new Whole Foods Market (owned by Amazon) which is...
