I wasn’t going to write a bad review, just wanted to give stars but since you made this explanation, I feel like I need to explain to you. I came to your salon for “ layered hair “. I showed a picture of a woman has her layers from the nose to the end. And I asked him “ did you understand that I want layers all the way down to the end. He cut my hair and saw my face unpleasant and said “ if you don’t like it you can come again to fix “. I did. This time I showed one of the worker hair and said” you see the layers all the way down ? “ He said “ yes “ . I said again” you need to cut the layers all the way down , not disconnected. You made disconnected layers! “ he said that he understood. I shouldn’t even give a second chance because nothing changed. My hair looks so disconnected and looks terrible and hard to style! I went to another hair salon and have been told that they can’t even fix! I left %30 tip for his mess at the first appointment and left with a smile. Second appointment I left with a smile. I am not a person who would be mean. But my understanding is you expected me to not have my positivity if I am not happy about result. Well, I am wishing you to have mean customers. Instead of writing response to my 2 star , if you would call me and talk to resolve the problem I would even changed my review.

I haven't asked for a miracle. I wanted to pay for specialist to get done the job. I told from the beginning what I want, so if you don't feel ok to do it, you have to let clients know, just not to waste their time! I end up yellow, so you wanted someone who screwed up all the process to fix my color?! I don't trust you at all! Now I have to see how I'm gonna fix this chaos on my head. Huge difference between what I have now, and what I wanted. If Camila told me on time she is not capable to do it, I would understand. That's why I drove 45 min to make to downtown, because I so her previous work on Instagram and I thought ok she knows how to get to the point. Definitely do not trust everything you see on Instagram and to all of the good reviews.

I bought a Groupon. Jonathan from Oabrook at first put me on a waitlist. Then called me back and noticed Chicago Location had an opening. He was very nice and helpful. Thanks to him I meet Lindsey did my highlights they came out looking fabulous. Audrey did style and cut. Shout out to the whole staff was just amazing. It was an honor to meet Charles himself. Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.

I would not recommend Charles Ifergan salon to anyone who does not want their hair completely ruined. My hair was burnt, resulting in severe breakage, tangling, and hair loss. To top it off, I got a skin infection and allergy the day after visiting the salon. Despite knowing the director of the brand, it did not help. When I reached out to him, he didn’t care and simply told me to contact the management team. They suggested putting a glaze on my hair, but I explained that it wasn't the solution due to severe damage and infection. Unfortunately, they did not even respond. Terrible service and complete disregard for customers. I liked the stylist who did my haircut, but everything else was just awful. Avoid this place at all costs.

UPD: Responding to some inaccuracies in the owner’s response:

I was never offered the opportunity to come in for a patch test. The service I requested was a natural balayage, but instead, very light highlights were done. To clarify, I mentioned that although I liked the tone, it wasn’t what I had asked for, and my hair was severely damaged. Having bleached my hair for many years, I can distinguish between normal bleach damage and overprocessing caused by a colorist’s mistake. The photo I sent was taken right after the service, so the hair appeared better then than it did a few days later when it began breaking significantly. Even in that photo, it's clear that hair around my face was already breaking, and I even marked the area. It's impossible to overlook that, yet they claim the hair looked healthy. Dissapponting to hear that they they seem to take pride in ignoring their clients’ concerns...

Finding a stylist who actually knows how to cut hair. Difficult. Finding someone who will listen to what you want. Very difficult. Finding someone who understands hair, gets the peculiarities of your hair, and can put together what you want with what you need. Impossible. Unless you get a tip from someone you trust, whose hair you've seen in person, and know exactly who did that cut. My friend and I got the tip that Dennis was fabulous. Absolutely true. Came here for years, from when Dennis wore T-strap shoes. He does beautiful cuts. I like the just been ** look. Slightly messy but perfectly groomed. He knows about colored hair, reverse bleaching, and how to deal with damage. Also love his personality. Highly animated. Talks, gestures constantly. Not just to you. Always entertaining while working. Takes a real interest in all of his clients. To have a great stylist means dealing with this narcissist's paradise, but it is Oak Street. Mirrors everywhere, even in elevators and their ceilings. (🤳 paradise). But it's all good. All about attitude. Positivity. Totally upbeat. Chrome. Glass. Glitz. To make you feel as good as you look with your new cut. It's all about style. Some of the shampoo folks are so limp-wristed you're better off sticking your head in a sink. If you find one that vigorously stimulates your scalp - priceless. I can't recommend Dennis more than to say his skills makes Chas almost tolerable. (Just kidding, Charles). Parking costs a mint and so does the cut plus tip. But how great you feel when you look in the mirror?...

My daughter had her hair done at a local salon, a two toned angled bob, which turned out poorly. I found Charles Ifergan Salons on the internet and read a particular review on a successful color correction. We were able to get an appointment for the following day. Angie, the salon colorist who took my call, did her homework and had several recommendations ready as soon as she assessed the condition of my daughter’s hair. No pressure. It was completely up to my daughter how she wished to proceed and she was well informed about the processes and costs. The staff was very well trained and highly skilled and it was easy to have confidence in their abilities. She decided to go with an all over color correction. I cannot tell you how impressed we were at the outcome! The staff worked tirelessly through the complicated process and yet maintained cheerful conversation, offered beverages, and sought to make her comfortable in every way. They even stayed late to finish, blow dry and style her hair. My daughter now has gorgeous chestnut colored hair that looks so natural you would never know she was the same girl who walked in with the black and blonde two toned bob earlier that afternoon! I cannot thank the staff enough, particularly Angie, Victoria and Bre! Your dedication, skills and professionalism are superior! I look forward to making my appointment as well as bringing my other family members to the Charles Ifergan Salon...
