Edited review: I have now been a client of this Chanel store for more than 3 years. Yesterday was the pinnacle of my visits to this store thanks to Troy.

If you are looking to start your Chanel buying journey, the first step is to make contact with Troy. He is personable, knowledgeable, and will be a fierce advocate for you. He made me feel safe and "seen" as a person with not the typical Chanel body type. And yes, this is important to note as many of these fashion houses do not typically carry extended sizes or cater to people who look like me.

A few pieces of advice for those wanting to make the most of your experience at Chanel. If you want to browse around, and this is your first time there, when you walk in, tell the sales associate just that. My advice is to start small. Specifically with costume jewelry. The Chicago store has a great selection of costume jewelry. If you have any questions about visiting this store, I'd love to help you answer them. Chanel store management could do more to ensure that their staff is more customer focused and friendly. While I was in the store, I did feel "observed" and was not comfortable walking around the store.

I'm not going to say that all the staff was horrible, but there was the person who was supposed to be assisting me, but as soon as I told her what I was looking for, she pretty much checked out and handed me off to another associate. For being a boutique store, I would expect a higher-level of customer service.

If you want to visit the store, you can walk-in. They have heat lamps and plastic (upscale) sheeting protecting you from the elements while you wait. However, depending on the time/date, you may be waiting outside for up to 1/2 hour or more.

Final note, the upstairs bathroom is a sight to behold. Floor to ceiling marble in a pinkish hue. For a public restroom, it's pretty fancy. Shoutout to the staff member who told me to...
