When I took my son to his first Cubs game in 2014, we stayed in the Swissotel right next door to this fire station. In the morning I went for a walk and as I was walking by, I noticed a fireman outside getting some fresh air, so I went over and talked to him. We're from a small town in Iowa, so I wanted to know about what it was like to be a fireman in a big city and as we were talking, I mentioned how much my 6 year old son loved firetrucks and he INSISTED that I bring my boy over for a tour.

We had great seats behind the Cubs dugout the night before and we even left with a foul ball, but I think those firefighters at Engine 13 were more memorable than the Cubs game was. 2014 was a tough year for them! I'd recognize that fireman anywhere if I saw him again but I can't remember his name for nothing. They let my son and I slide down the pole, but right after that they got a call and within minutes they were leaving in a hurry with sirens blazing.

Thank you to the crew at CFD Station 13! They were friendly and let this resigned firefighter (now Officiant) visit a bit & even listen in on their Ice Surface Rescue training. Felt good to see training & be extended the professional courtesy and extension of the FF Brother/Sister - hood. Thanks for recommending where to park & letting me visit before the wedding I was performing near by. The open arms were a blessed...

I wish to complement Paramedics Robert Graham and Rashad Woods for their excellent and comforting response to 155 N. Harbor Dr. #2213 to Helen Priester (98 years old). Their professionalism and compassion gave great relief to to me and her daughter. They could not have been more understanding and compassionate in their evaluation of the needs of her fall and cut to the back of her head. Bravo to them and...
