I had an appointment at 4pm with Kristine. I've been to this place twice before the pandemic. Great service! I waited a while before I decided it might be safe to go back for a treatment. Today, I arrived 15min early. No one was around at the desk. The food delivery guy came a little bit before 4...no one was still there. I could hear people in the back. So, at around 4:10 a lady came very casually asked my name. No acknowledgement as to how long it's passed my appointment. I mentioned that I had been waiting for 25min. She didn't acknowledge or empathize instead she asked "what time was your appointment" implying it's not their problem that I showed up early. At this point, I was annoyed for being literally undermined. I said that someone could have acknowledged and told me it'd take longer than usual. She went on that the nurse was still with the patient. Here's when things started going south for me:
She continued that they were short-staffed, as the owner had asked the staff to take the Covid test. I asked if that was something they had to do on a regular basis to which she responded "yes". At this point, I had suspected something was not right. She asked me if I wanted to find out how long more I had to wait. She went to Kristine and came back to tell me it’d take 10-15min longer. I agreed to stay longer. Meanwhile, she gave a tablet to sign a Covid statement basically saying that I didn’t have any symptoms and that I understood' between the lines' I was doing it at my own risk. I was still alert about her comment about staff's covid test. I decided that I was not going to sign the paper. At this point, the nurse and her client came out. She said that the delay was due to her fault but I had to sign the statement in order to receive service to which I responded even in the hospitals they wouldn’t make you sign such a thing. She told me that I had to disclose if I had Covid to which I replied how about you? She started getting loud and nasty and lecturing me on the pandemic, where she suddenly mentioned that the reason for the long wait and short-staffed situation was due to an employee who had tested positive. Now the rest had to take the test!!!! I was furious at this point. They kept me hanging until 4:28 to finally break it to me that someone had covid in their facility. They wanted me to understand their situation while even as service providers they weren’t honest and they didn’t initially disclose that they were exposed and whether I wanted to continue my treatment or not!!! This is absolutely unacceptable! Your staff want me to feel bad for them while they have me around unapologetically for 40min without being honest about their Covid exposure. I should have left right away when the girl told me that the owner wanted the staff to test. You should close your facility! You are liable. You should have called me earlier today to notify me and give me a choice as for whether I wanted to be...
Read moreI meant to write a review sooner. A few years ago, I came for a broken capillary treatment on my nose. The esthetician used a laser on the wrong area of my nose after I explained to her what areas needed treatment. I now have this scar near my nose area from the laser. This has affected my self-esteem tremendously. I have never had a scar on that area of my face before having this laser treatment with them. One comes to a beauty spa to fix imperfections and boost self-confidence, not to leave with more defects or imperfections.
I wrote them an email explaining the situation. the technician that performed my treatment tried to cover up her mistake by telling me that the scar mark was already there. I know she lasered the wrong area because I felt the laser burn was not in the area that needed the treatment, and how absurd. I see myself in the mirror every day, and one would detect any abnormalities on their face and be able to distinguish what has been there and what is new.
She did refund me; what was $200? Something back, but compared to the scar mark that will be permanently placed on your face, is not enough. My advice is to people, please be aware and research a place before you trust someone who doesn't know what they are doing with your face. This should not have happened if the esthetician had been conscientious and well-trained.
3/1/2023 Response to the owner:
This issue should have been addressed during my initial service appointment; instead of providing a solution to remedy the situation and address my concern about the scar mark after the laser treatment, I was met with a refusal to accept responsibility. The Esthetician's responded that the scar indentation was present before my treatment which we both know is untrue.
While I appreciate your willingness to try to resolve the problem now after I've posted this honest review, I believe it's a little too late. The lack of accountability and enthusiasm to remedy the situation on Esthetican part when this issue was initially brought forth says a lot about your business. I will not return for service provided by the same Esthetician who caused the scar on my face. Ask yourself this question would you return for assistance with the same person who caused a defect on your face? The...
Read moreWhen I called, Lorena was really helpful with her recommendation. She talked with me for nearly 10mins and I never felt rushed. I have had the Diamond glow multiple times in Portland at Face by Erin. Lorena suggested the hydra facial. Lorena is amazing! She made me want to come in.
On the day of the appt, I left early but thanks to the trains I arrived at my appointment time, but still needed to do paperwork. From this point things started to feel rushed. The waiting room is small and awkward. I went back to the treatment room and it was just hustle energy. Barely had time to take My jacket off. I wanted to discuss between light therapy and dermaplaning add on. With one look she said light therapy. Okay. The the facial started it was fine until the extractions started. I mentioned my jawline and hairline as problem areas. That basically Meant nothing because she focused only on my t zone. My jaw and hair line are still full of clogged pores. She said I should get a different treatment with lasers for my milia, even tho not all my congestion is milia. In my previous facials the aesthetician would meticulously extract EVERYTHING. I spent like $280+20% tip to feel rushed and get a half done facial. Wish that money went toward a thorough facial.
I’m going to just call my old aesthetician and ask for her recs in Chicago bc I feel under cared for.
I also will never understand why spas don’t just book the appointment time for the 10mins they need for you to fill out paperwork. (This is just a general...
