Jackson — Local services in Chicago

This station is a key transportation station, and it’s one of the busiest redline stations I’ve seen. The station is full of homeless people. I don’t have anything against homeless people, but a lot of them leave trash and throw it on the tracks as you can see. The station platforms get cleaned frequently throughout the day, but the tracks rarely get cleaned, and there is always trash there of all types. Bottles, cigarettes, bags, jackets, and of course RATS!! There are always people who keep yelling at everyone and harassing people. Overall, the station doesn’t seem safe nor clean. Moreover, it smells like sewers...

I have one word for CTA—DISENFECTANT! This station (Jackson Blvd Red Line) had to be the strongest odor of human urine I have ever smelled since changing my kid’s diaper when he was a baby. So disgusting. It’s obvious there is a serious lack of cleaning of the common areas around the subway platforms. Functionally, CTA is good for getting people around town but gawd, please try to clean it up...

The only reason I gave it 2 stars was that usually on the platform you can find 2 to 6 Officers with one of them a K-9 unit. You've got a 75% chance of getting cursed if you try to even say hello to the CTA employees inside booths, let alone actually ask them a question. I used to love the riding on the train.
