What an amazing spot in Chicago! Everything about this place was truly perfect. We came in on a Saturday night for drinks, and had the best time ever. The service, vibe, and overall creativity/experience factor of this spot was amazing! We all got the BEST prosecco drinks to start off (they used this unique liqueur in the drink that we had never seen elsewhere, and it was so interesting and delicious) and then each got different cocktails. Every detail was thought out in the cocktails, from the garnishes down to the glass types (loved the pufferfish one!) and the presentation (one of them was served tableside so that we could see a color change of the drink, which was so thoughtful). The service was amazing too; our server gave such interesting insights into the different flavor profiles of each cocktail, and helped tailor our choices to what we were wanting to drink that night. Clearly this place is a hotspot in Chicago, as well. It was SO lively both indoors and outdoors, and I would be remiss to not touch on the fact that the design inside, along with the couches and outdoor heaters truly brought this place to the next level. As first-time visitors in Chicago, this was certainly a highlight, and the view cannot be beat. We...
Read moreTiktok was wrong!!! Im not surprised. The food is average and not bold. Its small bites so the chefs choices should have bold flavors. The drinks were terrible all of them! The best dish was the bbq rack of lamb. Everything else was disappointing and I will not return. The lobster ravioli presentation was well but lacking in a bold flavor, corn fritters way too greasy and not flavorful, bao buns needed the bbq sauce from the lamb we did not finish those. The french fries were good but mayonnaise was not great it was supposed to be a garlic aioli. Omg the drinks tumeric was bad, yuzu sprits terrible, and one other terrible. How ever I let the waiter know and the bartender made me a drink off menu that was absolutely delicious! Blackberry bramble, the African American bartender is good 👍🏾. The scenery is beautiful inside and out but I would not recommend ordering anything from the menu...
Read moreNestled atop the 18th floor of the Viceroy Chicago is this trendy cocktail bar. Think killer date night venue (in the Viagra Triangle).
It's a bustling joint day or night (at least the couple of times I've attempted to come here), but it goes from sun-soaked to chic lounge. We were just there for a couple of afternoon cocktails, so I can't say anything about the food, but our cocktails were generally complex and lovely. The Red Panda is a savory cocktail with a touch of sweet (MY kind of cocktail), while the Yuzu Spritz is a liter citrusy gin cocktail that's insta-worthy. We also had another cocktail that slips my mind... I guess it wasn't as memorable?
The service was friendly and fast and I'd come back here for a nightcap! If you don't want a bunch of octogenarians hovering over you while you're out with your friends, skip the Tavern or Bellevue...
