Regular SS goer. The quality at this location is good. The service is as good as it can be for an elevated fast food chain. The only thing that sucks is the to-go packaging. Burgers are all half exposed in paper wrapping, which are then placed in a tray, which is placed in a bag with an open top… I can never eat them to-go and feel that my order is fresh, or even fully sanitary. Please switch to the shake shack to-go boxes I’ve seen at other places across the country (classic folding and closing burger boxes for the bags) that are practically at every major other burger/ fast food storefront.
I’m not sure how this change can happen from just a local review, but I’m also not sure how this haphazard to-go packaging has stayed around for so long for SS as a brand, and this location. It is a lacking + barely-there-packaging style for the fresh, quality food that SS is known to serve.
Imagine if it’s raining? Very cold? Snowing? We are not foreign to extreme temperatures here. The burgers will suffer! I can keep going, but my point has been made. Please, somehow, address this… it makes me not want to consume your food, no matter how...
Read moreOrdered my food for take out at the kiosk with a credit card, Shake Shack wasn't busy during this time, only door dashers. About two families inside eating. Food never came in a somewhat timely manner. After twenty minutes I decided to ask what was taking so long. The mistake was they had put my order in the mess of Door Dash pickups.
I had plenty of eye contact with staff members to show I was waiting for food and had the number placard readily out for them to see. You also have to put in a phone number for the dang order, still whatever the case the food was left out in the pile of door dash orders.
I refused the food and asked for a refund, I don't want to eat cold food.
This seems to be a trend across Chicago, where physical customers get pushed to the back of the business order que/service standpoint in order for staff to fulfill phone/uber eats/etc orders. It really should be the other way around. There's a reason people order online vs going into a establishment.
I was refunded in cash rather then my payment method of card. This will be my first and now last Shake...
Read moreI enjoy trying out Shake Shack whenever I travel to different states, and on this occasion, we visited the Chicago location. I ordered a veggie burger without cheese, while my partner ordered a meat burger. When our meals were called, we opened each burger to confirm which belonged to whom. Unfortunately, my order was a meat patty with cheese, and my partner’s burger was also incorrect. Upon raising the issue with an associate, it was discovered that our meals had been placed in another customer’s takeout bag. The associate then removed the food from that bag, handed it to us, and placed the burgers we had already handled back into the takeout order. This raised serious concerns about food safety and sanitation, as the other customer’s order had been touched extensively. Additionally, one of the associates preparing the burgers appeared visibly frustrated and was tossing food onto the upper compartment when ready, which did not reflect the level of care we would expect.
I’m seriously thinking to give Shake Shack a break as it’s been about 50% in our favor when we...
