This station is not very nice to wait at. It is nearly 120 years old and very out of date. There are no elevators or escalators, you can't cross to the other platform without leaving the station and crossing the street, and there is no direct connection to the Red Line Station below. The platforms are very narrow and the overall experience of waiting at this station is unpleasant, especially since it's one of the busiest stations in the CTA system.
The good news is that there are plans to completely rebuild this station as a modern and accessible station. Unfortunately, this is not slated to happen until 2025 at the earliest. If you are transferring to/from millennium station, this will be the closest station for you. It is also closest to the Navy Pier downtown area.
