Attention Block 37 Bldg Owner or Manager AMC Movie Theater I would like to take a moment to commend one of your managers her name was Dawn unfortunately I didn't get her last name worked the afternoon shift 2pm. I have been coming to your movie theater now about six months generally have good movie theater experience the customer service ticket agent and customer service team always warm friendly never had any problems or issues. I came to your theater along with my daughter to see Gladiator 2 on 12/03/2024 we was directed to our theater we found our seat location one seat across from us was a empty seat which had some bags which belonged to a elderly woman who had placed them. She got up to go to the bathroom a gentleman came double checking his ticket to see if that was his seat he didn't want to remove them waited for her to return we told him the item belonged to a elderly woman she schould return shortly. The lady returned he informed her this was his seat she removed items grudgly so he could sit down she then started rambling not making sense everyone soon realized she may have mental issues. She asked for the manager call 911 we was harassing her after brief conversation the manager Dawn ask me my daughter and the gentleman to move to a different seat location apologized for the inconvenience gave us complimentary pass for another show realizing the elderly woman was making false statements would we please move to a different seat area for everyone safety. I would like commend the manager Dawn for her quick action she took charge figure it's best to separate deescalate the situation so it won't cause disruption to the other movie theater patron. I work with the general public know first hand you need empathy patience and understanding especially dealing with individuals who maybe suffering from mental illness. I would like give a sincere appreciation to all the staff and personnel for all their hard work everyday though this was an unusual irritating disheartening experience dealing with a disrespectful movie theater patron overall we did have a good experience. Gladiator 2 was awesome!

Read moreBeen going to this theater a couple times a year for the last few years and seems every time I go there I have a worse and worse experience. The majority of their staff is beyond rude to their customers. Last time I was here, two VERY bright lights on their ceiling were left on during the entire duration of the movie. I had a seat directly under one of these lights that was shining directly in my face so I could barely see the movie and had a headache after the first 30 mins. We walked outside to politely ask a staff member if they could check their lighting in that theater when another AMC employee walked up mid conversation before even letting us finish explaining what we were asking about, rudely cut us off, and started yelling at us that these were “safety lights for their food runners”. The staff didn’t even bother to simply walk in the theater and look at what we were referring to, or didn’t even let us finish explaining that there were several lights still on, but two that were extremely bright. I have been to a large number of different theaters around Chicago and never in my life have I seen “safety lights” that are bright enough to see the whole theater and shine directly in customers faces during a whole movie. Additionally, not a single “food runner” entered the theater the moment the movie started so not sure what the lights were being left on for. We then asked if we could get our money back and as the staff member was physically walking away from us he mumbled “call customer service” and did not care to help us in any way. At the end of the movie I noticed three food items we paid for were never given to us, so again brought our receipt to the staff and were told “well just go grab what you didn’t get on your way out” …..their food is kept behind their registers so we had to find a different employee to help us there. Additionally, the theaters here are smaller than most theaters, but so are the movie screens. That typically doesn’t bother me but when you have an LED spot light at maximum brightness shining in your face the entire movie, I couldn’t...
Read moreWell, this experience was terrible from start to finish. First off, actually finding the theater in the mall was a challenge. After going up four escalators, we finally located it. The self-serve kiosk was confusing—you’re expected to order everything there for delivery to your seat, but then you have to go pick up half your order at the concession stand without any explanation that this is required. That was really “fun” to navigate.
Also loved the woman who decided to sit directly next to me in an otherwise empty theater. I mean, there were rows of empty seats, and she chose the one right next to mine. While the theater can’t really control that, it’s a prime example of why watching a movie in the city is a completely different experience than doing it in the suburbs.
Now, let’s talk about the main issue: the food. Forget the fact that only one soda machine was working or that there’s no way to request extra salt on your popcorn. Let’s focus on what was served.
I ordered a chicken Caesar salad wrap—and I’m still trying to understand why the lettuce was full of sour white cores. The entire wrap was bitter and unappetizing because it was packed with the worst parts of the romaine: those tough, pale-white stalks that have no flavor except bitterness. There may have been half a chopped chicken breast thrown in, but that’s being generous. The only decent part of the meal was the fries.
And of course, my food didn’t even arrive with everyone else’s. I had to wait until halfway through the movie, then go out and ask where it was. As I was walking back, the server rushed to bring it to me—while I was still halfway down the hallway. Did she think I could teleport from the front desk to my seat in two seconds? So naturally, I had to go back out again to grab it.
All of that… for one of the worst wraps I’ve ever...
