Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland — Local services in Chicago

The customer service was rude and condescending. It took all my might not to turn around and leave when I planned on spending $200 on chocolates.

I asked for a sample to which I was told there are none today...I’ve been here several times and have never been refused a sample. I was shocked by my greeting upon entering and about the sample. Not to mention, I asked for the sample for my 4 year old to guard her interest, but since I was refused, I spent less money than planned not knowing if she would also love my favorite chocolate.

I still proceeded to spend $200 on chocolates which I regret because I can’t get ever the customer service. I was planning on spending closer to $300...exactly, on chocolate.

The next patron that entered behind me was greeted with a “real greeting and smile” while I was treated like a bum.

I wouldn’t give these people another dollar and I’ve spent a lot of dollars at this place over the years after a trip to Switzerland where I ran my own project team and was introduced to the wonderful chocolates they produce.

I was recommended this place by my mothers friend. She raved about the service and the chocolate. But my experience was lackluster. I walk in and I’m basically ignored. There are 2 employees and one customer. The employees never greet me or acknowledge that I’m in the store. I walk around a little bit but still no one comes to speak to me or ask me any questions. The only time I get someone’s attention is after standing next to the other customer and staring at the employees. When I’m helped the woman who grabbed the chocolate I wanted whispers to the other woman to ring me up. So I try to listen and it sounds like twelve. But the second woman couldn’t hear her so she whispers again and it sounds like thirteen. Which is strange but ok. So the second woman finally speaks to me and loud and clear says “$22” yes 22 dollars for 6 pieces of chocolate the size of your thumb. I think they were lying but I don’t know how or why. t's right on average when it comes to specialty chocolate shops. If you are looking for a chocolate fix this will certainly satisfy your craving but I really can't see going out of your way for this place.

We were on a mission to find a great chocolatier in Chicago and found this place on the miracle mile. We just did not find the truffles and other specialty items that memorable.
