J Crew is great, this is guaranteed their worst location go elsewhere!!
Went to this location to buy a suit but they didn’t have the jacket size I needed. I emphasized that I needed the jacket by Saturday (it was Thursday) they said they could order one 'no problem' again I confirmed I needed it by Saturday this was confirmed by all three individuals working in the men's department. Unfortunately, the sales staff doesn't know how to use their own system and I received notice of shipping after I got home that it would arrive Tuesday (way too late!)
No worries I thought I'll reach out to J Crew and explain my situation. So I did:
First response: blamed me for ordering wrong. (Sales associate ordered it in their system at register, not me.)
Second response: passive aggressive 'sorry but not our problem'
Third response: offered a discount less than the current in store sale on just that item.
Fourth response: refused to check inventory at other locations.
So end of the day customer service made the situation worse. All the sales team is doing is saying whatever you want to make a sale.
Will tell everyone I talk too about this and to go to other J Crew locations! The staff and customer service are worthless.
Update: 1) once discovering the jacket would arrive late I went back to the store to get one of the sizes close that I previously tried on to make it work. Didn't make a scene and you would have been able to tell I was anything other than a normal customer. THEY HAD PULLED ALL THE SIZE ABOVE AND BELOW MINE OFF THE FLOOR. This was a pretty unique coat but there is no way they sold all 5 of the size smaller in one day. Didn’t help that the entire sales team was staring at me talking into their mics. So I expect they only go above and beyond creeping on people who complain. 2) Then, order arrived even later than expected and damaged. Looking closer the pants I got in store were pulling a seam too. All around fail. Shopping at Target or Forever 21 would produce higher...
Read moreI absolutely love and look forward to shopping at J.Crew. They have wonderful styles and their material is great quality. Lately I've been doing my shopping online. However, I had to do a return. I called the store in advanced to let them know of the situation of the return ( final sale). It took three times to actually get someone to speak with. Explained the situation and started heading to the actual store. When I went into the store, they were horrible! The two cashiers were condescending, rude and straight out disrespectful. The man was like oooh you were the one who called?!
They interrogated me about the return of the shoes, asked who I spoke with on the phone, then proceeded to tell me if I get a gift card I must buy something in order for them to retain their return- ration status. I'm like huh? Then Darby K ( cashier) pointed to the sales rack. I'm in utter shock! I picked up some shoes and tried them. I headed up to the register to do my exchange. Then the cashier Darby K insisted that I try on the shoes before she rang them up.
I got my things and I left. I had to call corporate on that store and their employees. It was just...
Read moreI think what 'brick and mortar' has over time efficiency are the interactions that one can have in the stores. This JCrew on Michigan Avenue is so welcoming. The store feels intimate but it really is space efficient. The palette of the products is cheery and fun but for those who want cosy —or if you need to do more corporate—it's here. But, what was so heartening was to hear Staff laughing with the customers, offering folks water of they hear them coughing (tis the Season where you have to get your shopping done and dang if a cough is going to stop you!), and directions to their fitting rooms in such a lovely manner. If Customer Service saves 'brick and mortar', Crew on Michigan are the saviors!...
