I visited this store with my 10 year old nephew to try to get him into magic the gathering. The experience couldn't have been any better. A nice man sat down with us and between him and myself we played a game of magic with 30 card training decks and taught my nephew everything he needed to know to start, because thats the best way to learn how to play. To watch and we explianed it as we went. Then they even let us keep the training decks because of the simplicity of them their perfect to learn with. On top of all that they gave us a discounted price on a duel deck package for him to learn with. Chico Magic is a hobby store for MTG players for the most part, though the store sells many other things too including other card types and pretty lil' gift items. The owner, Becky, has her doors open practically any time (after noon that is, and she is often open into late night) for her customers to stop by and play a few games, so it's a very popular hangout, and she sells her cards at fair price. She's also not afraid to kick someone out who's causing trouble for her players, even at the cost of a customer, so you can be assured of a fun and cheat-free environment with lots of friendly people! This place is amazing! The owner and her staff are super helpful go to great lengths to get you what you need. I wanted to learn Magic to play with a friend on their birthday and the owner sat down and taught me! That kind of customer service and genuine interest in the merchandise is so hard to find nowadays! Skip Amazon or anywhere else in town and go straight here!
