Mi gente last night we decided to take a ride to Beacon and we stumbled upon Savage Wonder, a performance arts center by veterans for veterans, and to our happy surprise there was a comedy show.

It happened like this … walked past this poster and decided to walk down these steps that seemed to lead to a dungeon, not knowing if we would be murdered or what, to our surprise there was a gallery of art, a speakeasy and amazing vibes.

After grabbing some pretty yummy wood fired pizza from a local restaurant we came back for the 9:30pm stand up comedy, just $10 at the door, sipped on some awesome wine from the cutest cave like bar with the friendliest hostess and stayed to chat with the comedians - all veterans. Super funny and such a great evening. Thank goodness we took a chance and went down the steps 😂

This is honestly one of the best "secret" spots in Beacon atm. I've been blown away every time i go in. They are doing some incredible things at the bar, in the theater/gallery space and especially in the kitchen! Stopped by today and they asked for our opinion on a new dish (Lamb-ba-bombs i think they called them). Amazing. They were essentially lamb meatballs in a stewed tomato sauce with preserved lemons. Last night we attended The Actor’s Nightmare and 10 minute comedies. A small stage, no props, reading from scripts, the plays were cleaver and well executed! We will be returning guests! When you meet Chris Meyer, the owner and creator of Savage Wonder, you will become invested in his mission. He’s personable and has an infectious enthusiasm!
