I've been a resident of the Sibley building for 4 years. In this time the owners of this garage have raised the parking rent multiple times despite the increasing inconveniences we've faced, among them a continuously broken elevator and broken exit gates.
This week we received a letter stating that the owners of St Joe's were increasing the number of private parking spaces (which cost significantly more) in the garage due to demand. They didn't add just a few of these placards in the garage...They made the entire 3rd floor private spaces. The 3rd floor is the direct access to the bridge which connects to the apartment complex and businesses. We now are being forced to park either a floor above or a floor below. This may not seem a big deal for some but the elevator doesn't work 99% of the time and there are plenty of us who can't take the stairs because we have young children and use a wheelie cart or stroller. Again, the elevator is nearly always broken.
I used to feel safe in this garage but I can see now that the only priority here is greed. I now have to spend extra time carrying my babies to a far less visible part of the garage in an already terrifying part of town- right across from the RTS Transit Center. I'll add pictures to my review tomorrow. There are more than 175 of these spaces now. They couldn't even get people to fill the 40 or so they already had. Whoever made these decisions on privatizing the 3rd floor is vile....

We called the maintenance line for the building who had us call someone for the garage and that went straight to voicemail. We were lucky to find someone who was entering with a key card. Then we had to find the garage security and he was nice but the whole experience...
