First time shopper at Hobby Lobby and it surpassed all my expectations. As an Irish woman living in Canada, my husband and I went to Syracuse, New York for the weekend. It was his first time going Stateside and I often spoke about how well the Americans love the Irish. We went to Hobby Lobby as it was always advertised on TikTok and I was fascinated about their craft department. As there is no Hobby Lobby in Canada, I was genuinely amazed and thrilled to visit there because little did we know, when I walked in, there were aisles of fantastic items...it was a homemaker's paradise! My hubby eyed- up a couple of solid, wooden rocking deck chairs, that were quite spacious and big to sit on and have extra cushions. We had never seen anything like them before and they were on sale! A friendly member of Staff came up to us and asked if we needed help, we enquired if the chairs were flat packed as we would be travelling over the border back to Canada and only had a 4x4. The member of Staff, or Cheyenne, as we came to know, said 'I just put those up last week, I can take them down for you, if you give me about 15-20 minutes, I'll just get a trolley and bring them to the back and dismantle them....we have a sale on so if you folks want to do a little bit of shopping, it won't take too long...I'll meet you up at the Cashier.' My husband looked at me in disbelief how friendly Cheyenne was, how extra accommodating he was, that nothing was too much to ask for and his customer service was phenomenal. True to his word, as we had finished our other shopping, he met us up at the front cashier and we paid. He asked if he could help me to our vehicle. That weekend, there was a bad snowstorm, a 'white out' as it was stated on media outlets. When another member of Staff told him he wouldn't be able to get out the exit door because of the snowstorm, he replied, 'I shoveled it already, the path is clear' and then turned to me and said 'I'll bring this to your vehicle for you (my hubby was retrieving the vehicle from the underground parking lot and was going to meet me at the exit door. He helped my husband load the chairs into the vehicle securely and Cheyenne mentioned how he took the nuts and bolts and saran-wrapped them, he included the small wrench and gave tips to my husband how to build the chairs. Cheyenne wished us well, told us to drive safe and to come back shopping again. I over-thanked him for all his kindness and I asked if I could do a Google review and he said, 'that would be lovely, as Corporate do read our reviews.' So Corporate, do your thing and make this guy a Manager......people like Cheyenne love their job, love to help people and his customer service left my husband and I smiling on the 3 hour journey...
Read moreGuess ill be the bad guy and expose this store for what it is. My wife and i have always had some rough experiences and today was the the worst ever and the last time we shop there. We had an incident with an advertised sale, so we purchased the item. Only to get charged full price. So we asked about the item and the cashier (angie) was not trying to elaborate and gave attitude and remarks to us instead of assisting. We asked for a refund and she was unhappily told us she can't do it and we would have to go to the other cashier to get it done. I did make a statement about not being resolved at that register. So she let go of her professionalism and let comments out. So I returned some choice words while my wife and i walked away as it seemed we were the only ones willing to do that. Where we impatiently made our way to the other register waiting to be attended to.
Then management decided to take us instead of letting the normal and content cashier on this side ,do her job as she seemed to be doing just fine. Getting in the assistant manager (jill H) line, we just wanted to get out of the store as soon as the refund was done. She wasted no time to Jump into the situation topic instead if treating us normally and greeting us as we would expect from an assistant manager, we were targeted right away and attacked then egging on the situation instead of just trying to get the refund done. We ultimately explained what happened to her and she seemed to not want to hear our side , then she decided it was good enough time to start refund. And wasn't able to use her own required numbers on her terminal needing another member of managements numbers and operating on those instead of having the then required member of management finish the transaction. And after all that, that's when her friendly demeanor decides to come through and she tells us to have a good day. Worst...
Read moreI think the store is really nice it has a lot of options to choose from esp if your are a crafter. But yesterday I had a real bad experience with manager Claudette and I had to call there corporate office to file a complaint. There office was very concerned at how badly I was treated. There office jumped right on the complaint to fix it. First the store couldn't find my transaction from Aug. 2nd I was accused of lieing about the date when I purchased one of the items because she found a sticker on the bottom of the item that said 2024, and the item on the shelf that replaced my item was now a 2025 sticker. So this manager insisted my item was over a year old. When I explained I have a TBI injury and if she can help me find my transaction on my chime history we can clear this up, but she insisted I was the liar. And she embarrassed me Infront of other customers standing in line. I left this store in tears. When I got home as i stated I called customer service and the very nice lady found my transaction as I stated. It was on the date I provided. And the lamp was purchased in Aug. She called the store and told Claudette she had to give me all my money back in cash. Ty hobby lobby for fixing this issue. I just wish Claudette would have apologized before I walked away. I could have put on a seen when I went back but I didn't . sorry but she owes me an apology. I live my life now with a TBI injury from an assault that took place in this city. It effects everything I do in my day now, this is how people treat me many places I go and it's so frustrating I was always like this , at one time in my life I was a pharmacist. I lost my life when I was assulted. I am not slow . I am very smart. Don't judge a book by its cover . Ty...
