Spencer's — Local services in City of Syracuse

I hate posting bad reviews but the employee i dealt with was so horrible, i had to. We went to the mall saturday just for a family day out had a really hard week due to finding out i may have cancer. Stopped in spencers looked around i asked one of the employees who looked completely miserable about if they had an item they had at great northern, she responded with barely a response. So i brushed it off as she was having a bad day whatever. We go to leave she follows us out and asks about a item i was looking at and where i put it, i tell her thinking she just wanted to pick up the store where i set it down,still didnt think anything of it until she says you need to come back in and show me where you put it, I walk into the rest of the employees laughing and saying what did she snag. So not even 5minutes later see the girl on break. Finally realizing she had made that scene cause i bothered her on break. Even though she was standing in the store like she was working. I always wondered why the store is always empty so started looking online and found a story of a husband and wife that went to the same location followed out to kay jewelers and made to empty her purse when she did and there was nothing the kid just walked away no apology. I'll never go back to that store and will be filing a formal complaint...

Usually I'll buy jewelry from there or hats or something. a couple months ago i'd go in there every weekend cause I was friends with 1 of the workers, I loved going in there cause everyone was so chill. He quit cause the manager or someone higher up was molesting the employees or something like that. ok anyway, A few days ago I went to buy hoops for my lip, and I was kinda rushing, I ended up buying the wrong size. when I took the hoops out of the package that's when I realized they were too big. I was like 90% they wouldn't return the hoops because the package was open even though I could promise I didn't use them. But i tried anyway, I went in and this nice woman working asked me if she could help me, I explained my dilemma, and she went to get the manager. The moment the manager came to me she gave me the biggest attitude ever about it. Okay, I can understand you wouldn't take it back, theres no reason for her to act all pissy. Im never going in spencers again, and Im telling a my friends not to either, and theyre loyal customers... not after this. Learn good...

I ended up getting the only not friendly staff member in the store at the register. Insisted only their cleaner can be used on silicone products twice, and that soap and water deteriorates the material. It’s not true, and their website recommends soap and water to clean as well for the product I bought. I asked for no bag so I could carry my one item in my own bag, and she gave me a bag anyway. I said I would like no bag again awkwardly, and she said I got one anyway. I took the item out myself while leaving.

Bad vibes to start my trip being the first store I visited. Big selection compared to my hometown Spencer’s, was fun to look...
